Riven's P.O.V.
"I swear that woman is going to drive me mad one day. She chased me out of my own palace! Who does that?" I was fuming inside the car, pouring all my frustrations on Uncle Zeke and Seth, who had involuntarily decided to accompany me this time. Aunt Nyx had warned the three of us not to return unless I had what she wanted.
"It's been four years. Four fucking agonising years looking for a goddamn mate whom I don't even know where to find. Can't Aunt Nyx give me a break? It's exhausting."
I leaned my head on the half-opened car window, hoping the wind could sweep away my irritation—if only it could.
"At least don't drag me into your quarrels," Uncle Zeke didn't waste a chance to add to my misery. As I've said before, these two were my least favourite.
"Me too," Uncle Seth, who was driving, couldn't keep his mouth shut either.
I rolled my eyes and gazed outside. "Haa, if only my mom and dad were here. I bet life would've been easier, and quieter."
