Aurora was sprawled on the couch, an open spell book covering her face; this was the sight Albert saw when he came to get her.
He cleared his throat loudly to get her attention. "Your Highness, her Majesty requests your presence."
His words grabbed her attention faster, and she stiffened, her heart skipping a beat as she wondered why the queen remembered her today.
"Umm…uh. Butler, how is the queen's mood?" Aurora quickly sat up straight in her seat and asked humbly, her forgotten book falling to the fur-covered ground with a soft thud.
She subtly studied Albert's expression, hoping to glimpse his true feelings about her questions, but his face remained a mask of politeness and calm.
"Your Highness, I dare not presume the queen's thoughts or feelings. Please come with me; Her Majesty is waiting." Albert's tone was firm, shutting down every question that was on the tip of her lips.
