Chapter 449 - Chapter 448: Saint Yulin

Chapter 448: Saint Yulin

"Where are you going?"

Li Meng ignored the voice behind him.

That little girl must be "Senior Sister's" disciple.

The look in her eyes was like something precious had been snatched away.

There shouldn't be any conflict between a disciple and a little junior brother, right?

Or maybe it was just because "Senior Sister" had someone new close to her that she was unhappy?

Definitely childish behavior.

Li Meng followed a small path to the lakeshore.

He found a dock there.

Standing on the dock, Li Meng peered into the water.

"Hmm, this spot's nice!"

Li Meng snapped his fingers.

Golden light flashed across the dock behind him.

A three-star summoning magic circle appeared on the ground.

A holy golden pillar of light immediately fell from the sky.

Landing squarely on the summoning circle.

As the golden light faded,

a knight clad in white and gold armor appeared behind Li Meng.

After appearing, Little Saint skillfully took out a small stool, a fishing rod, and some bait.

This scene was caught by the little girl hiding in the trees.

Although that brat was annoying,

the teacher had instructed her to take care of him.

No matter what, she had to be serious about it.

"Golden light... a light-element summoned beast?"

But that busy knight looked way too human.

Humanoid summoned beasts weren't useless,

but that knight looked exactly like a real person.

"What's he doing? Fishing?"

Seeing the little guy sitting on the stool fishing, the little girl was speechless.

But then again,

that dried fish in his hand smelled really good.

She wondered how it tasted.

Saint Yulin sat down on a bench by the path.

What little kid had the patience to sit in one place and fish for long?

He'd definitely get bored soon and head home.

"Three-star magic circle... Could he be a third-tier summoner?"

Saint Yulin had clearly seen the three-star summoning circle on the dock.

The star level of a magic circle was directly tied to a summoner's rank.

A three-star summoning circle would summon a third-tier magical beast.

And he was so young.

Not even nine years old, and already a third-tier summoner?

Saint Yulin could hardly believe it.

As the disciple of Mute Lake Academy's principal,

her own talent was unquestionable.

She was considered a genius at Mute Lake Academy.

At thirteen years old, she was only a second-tier mage herself.

Sitting on the bench, Saint Yulin frowned slightly.

Having a sudden new little junior uncle, how could she not care?

Saint Yulin knew that the teacher's teacher had long passed away.

He had died ten years ago at the Demon-Suppressing Pass.

Which meant this little junior uncle wasn't a direct disciple of the teacher's teacher.

He was someone the teacher accepted on behalf of her master.

But why would the teacher do that?

The little junior uncle was clearly so young.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just accept him as a direct disciple?

Why go through the trouble of accepting him on behalf of the late master?

Time slowly passed, and the sun climbed higher.

As she waited, Saint Yulin realized she had underestimated that little junior uncle's patience.

She had to admit, he really was a fishing master.

Mute Lake's mute fish were notoriously hard to catch.

But his catch rate was ridiculously high.

And every one of them was a mute fish.

"Can fish make sounds?"

Another mute fish was hooked.

This time, Li Meng didn't rush to throw it into the basket.

Instead, he held it in his hand, examining it.

Fish that could make sounds did exist,

but 99% of fish species couldn't.

Could it be that fish in this world could vocalize?

Mute Lake's mute fish weren't exactly pretty.

They looked like tadpoles about to turn into frogs.

Kind of ugly. Didn't look very appetizing.

"Senior Sister wouldn't lie to me, right?"

Muttering to himself, Li Meng tossed the mute fish into the basket.

Whether they tasted good would soon be clear.

This scene was again watched by Saint Yulin not far away.

She gazed silently at the sparkling lake.

After a long moment, she stood up and headed back toward the teacher's villa.

Around noon, Saint Yulin appeared again.

Seeing her little junior uncle still fishing at the dock, Saint Yulin had a headache.

This kid's patience was too damn good.

Was he planning to fish all day?

The teacher had specifically instructed her not to let the little junior uncle go hungry.

Even though cooking was a nightmare for her,

there was a first time for everything.

Saint Yulin took a deep breath and walked toward the dock.

Closer, closer!

She stepped lightly onto the dock.

"Teacher said you can't go hungry. I... I've made lunch!"

Saint Yulin stopped about five meters from Li Meng.

Was that little girl asking him to eat?

Li Meng looked skeptically at Saint Yulin.

This pampered princess type—she could cook?

Li Meng silently packed up his fishing rod.

And lifted the fish basket from the water.

"I'll carry it for you!"

Seeing the small figure struggling with the large basket,

Saint Yulin quickly rushed over and grabbed it from Li Meng.

The moment she grabbed it, her face changed.

"So heavy!"

She glanced into the basket.

And got a huge shock.

There were at least dozens of lively mute fish inside.

Even at thirteen, carrying it was a struggle.

"Let Little Saint do it."

Seeing her struggling, Li Meng glanced at "Little Saint."

Little Saint stepped forward and easily took the basket from her hands.

Feeling the weight leave her arms, Saint Yulin breathed a sigh of relief.

There was still quite a distance to the villa.

If she had to carry it back herself, she might collapse halfway.

The three of them left the dock one after another.

"Hey, what's your name?"

Once they entered the forest path, Saint Yulin asked.

This little junior uncle was way too silent.

Li Meng took out another piece of dried fish and started eating.

The rich aroma made Saint Yulin's eyes light up.

She quickly caught up to walk alongside him.

"Hey, you still haven't answered me!"

"My name's not 'hey.'"

Li Meng glanced sideways at her.

Saint Yulin clenched her fists, her eyes blazing.

This little brat was way too arrogant.

From start to finish, he acted like he couldn't care less about her.

Everywhere she went, she was the center of attention.

She wasn't used to being treated like this at all.

But remembering that this little brat was someone the teacher had brought back as a junior uncle,

and if he complained to the teacher,

her life would be miserable.

Saint Yulin took a deep breath, her face turning red.

Awkwardly, she called out.

"L-Little Junior Uncle!"

Seeing her fidgeting and blushing, Li Meng was speechless.

Was calling "Little Junior Uncle" that hard?

"My name is Li Meng!"

Li Meng, huh?

Such a normal name.

Saint Yulin silently muttered to herself.
