Chapter 181 - New York battle IV

Alex grinned as the giant ship settled into the air, hovering above the city. The red glow from its crystals lit up the streets below, casting long shadows across the battlefield.

"Now that's what I call an entrance," he said. "Let's get to work."

The ship's sides opened up, revealing rows of glowing cannons. They rotated with mechanical precision, locking onto the incoming Chitauri ships.

Tony blinked at the readings on his HUD. "You're kidding me—those things are charging!"

Before anyone could react, a series of bright red beams shot from the cannons, cutting through the Chitauri army. Entire groups of alien ships exploded in seconds, the blasts shaking the sky.

Thor whistled. "That… is impressive."

Steve looked up, half stunned. "He built that in seconds?"

Alex landed on the deck of the massive ship, his boots echoing against the black steel. "I didn't build it," he said into the comms. "I reshaped what was already here. Energy, metal, broken buildings—it's all just matter waiting for new purpose."

"Yeah, sure," Tony muttered. "Remind me never to play god around you."

The Abyss Carrier's cannons fired again, this time taking down another Leviathan midair. The creature's body fell apart before it even hit the ground.

Alex pointed forward. "Target the ones near the tower. Clear a path for Stark and Rogers."

"On it," Clint said from his falcon, steering it through the chaos.

Natasha swung through the burning buildings below, shouting orders to the surviving soldiers. "Move, move! Stay behind the barrier line!" Her black spider familiar crawled beside her, spitting webs that caught falling debris.

Above, Thor and Tony flew side by side, blasting through smaller ships while Alex's new creation covered them from behind. The battlefield started to shift in their favor.

Fury's voice came through the comms. "Whatever you just did, Morrow—it's working. Keep those skies clear."

Alex smirked, watching the burning remains of Chitauri ships fall like rain. "Don't worry, Director. The Abyss Carrier has only just begun."

On the streets, soldiers cheered as the massive black ship above unleashed another wave of energy beams, tearing through the Chitauri swarm like paper. Every explosion echoed like thunder, shaking the city but also giving hope.

Steve's voice came over the comms. "Alex, you've opened us a path! Stark, let's get that portal closed!"

"Already moving," Tony replied, blasting upward toward Stark Tower. "Jarvis, full thrust—get me to that portal core."

Thor followed right behind, lightning coiling around Mjolnir. "I shall clear the way!"

As they soared toward the beam, the Chitauri regrouped, sending more carriers and Leviathans to block their advance. The air filled with plasma fire.

"Alex!" Tony shouted. "A little cover would be great right about now!"

"Say no more," Alex said, raising one hand. Crimson runes flashed beneath the Abyss Carrier, and the ship's entire hull began to glow. "Activating Aegis Field."

A barrier of red energy spread from the carrier like a shockwave, forming a massive shield dome that absorbed the incoming blasts. The energy fire ricocheted off harmlessly, buying Thor and Tony time to reach the tower.

On the deck, Alex steadied himself, his eyes glowing brighter with each passing second. "Come on… hold together," he muttered. The ship trembled slightly under the strain, but it held.

Down below, Natasha and Clint regrouped near a group of NYPD officers trying to evacuate civilians. "Looks like the tide's turning," Natasha said, reloading her pistols.

"Yeah," Clint said, drawing another arrow with a smirk. "Let's make sure it stays that way." He fired—his arrow split midair into six energy bolts, each striking a Chitauri soldier square in the chest.

Then, suddenly, the ground rumbled again—harder than before. A deafening roar shook the entire city. From the portal above, something massive started to emerge.

It was another Leviathan… no—bigger than any before. Twice the size, its scales black with pulsing purple veins. It let out a guttural scream that shook the very air.

Tony's voice came through the comms. "Okay, that's new. Tell me someone's got an idea."

"The idea is simple," Alex said as everyone looked at him.

The Leviathan carved on the front of his ship suddenly began to distort, glowing brighter as a massive energy beam started to charge inside its mouth. The air trembled around it, the light growing until it was almost blinding.

"Art is Explosion!" Alex shouted.

A split second later, the beam fired—an enormous blast of crimson energy tearing through the sky and obliterating the Leviathan in a single hit. The explosion that followed was so huge it lit up the entire city.

Clint whistled as he and Natasha helped NYPD officers evacuate civilians. "Well, at least someone's enjoying themselves," he said with a grin.

Natasha just shook her head, firing another round at a Chitauri soldier. "Let's just make sure there's a city left to enjoy."

As Tony and Thor finally reached the portal core atop Stark Tower, the surrounding energy field pulsed violently, its power source drawn directly from the Tesseract. The portal expanded and contracted like a living thing, each surge sending ripples of blue light across the skyline.

"Okay, this thing's overloading the whole grid," Tony muttered through gritted teeth. "Jarvis, I need readings!"

"Energy levels are unstable, sir," came the AI's calm reply. "Any manual approach will risk total detonation unless the field is neutralized."

Below, Steve fought his way up the damaged stairwell, his shield deflecting plasma blasts as Loki landed before him, smirking. "Still trying to play soldier in a god's war?"

Steve steadied his stance, shield raised. "Just a man doing what's right."

The two clashed—Loki's scepter met vibranium with a blinding flash. The impact threw sparks across the platform.

Meanwhile, Tony hovered near the core, scanning the barrier. "Alex, you seeing this? The pedestal's wrapped in a multi-phase energy field. Nothing's getting through."

"what od you want me to do?" Alex asekd from the ship.

"fire those big ass canon sof yours at this" Tony said flying a bit further.

"Hold position," Alex said. His eyes flared red as the Abyss Carrier rotated above the tower, the massive Leviathan head on its front glowing like a furnace. "Firing the Oblivion Cannon—let's see if that barrier can hold against it."
