Alex leaned back against the couch, the three of them surrounding him like a warm shield. Maria rested against his chest, Sue leaned on his shoulder, and Colleen held his other arm. For a moment, none of them spoke—they just laughed softly, enjoying the comfort of being together again.
"So… what did you do in Asgard?" Sue asked, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Did you fight gods? Walk through shining cities? Get into trouble?"
Alex chuckled, glancing at each of them. "I trained… a lot. And yes, I fought. Thor, actually."
Maria's eyes widened. "Thor? The real Thor?"
"The one and only," Alex said with a grin. "He wanted to test me, and I wanted to test myself. It was… intense."
Colleen leaned closer, tilting her head. "Intense how? Like, all-out battle, magic everywhere?"
"Exactly," Alex said, and a faint glow of light and shadow flickered in his hands for a moment as he demonstrated, weaving a small spiral that danced between his fingers. "Light and darkness, moving together. Everything else is… slower, different, but I can still use it when I need."
Sue let out a low whistle. "So you're stronger than ever, huh? Not that we doubted it, but… wow."
Alex laughed, shaking his head. "I learned a lot, but the magic isn't everything. What really matters is understanding it—how to balance it, how to control it without losing yourself."
Maria traced her finger along his arm. "That's… reassuring. I'm glad you're back, and not just because you've been gone."
Colleen smirked. "Yeah, it's nice knowing the three of us get to spend time with you again. You better not disappear on us next time."
Alex grinned at her. "Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere."
The four of them spent the rest of the afternoon together, talking, laughing, and catching up. Even as the light of the late afternoon spilled through the windows, Alex felt a sense of calm he hadn't experienced in months. Between the magic, the battles, and the power he had gained, it was moments like this—with the three people who cared for him—that reminded him what truly mattered.
As the evening approached, Maria, Sue, and Colleen all leaned into him at once, playfully vying for his attention, and Alex couldn't help but laugh. After everything, it felt good to be home.
In the weeks that followed, Alex returned to a more normal routine. He went to work as usual, walking the familiar halls of his job, enjoying the simplicity of a mundane life after the intensity of Asgard. Maria, working as a nurse at the clinic, was there too, her presence steady and comforting. She'd often check in on him, teasing lightly when he got too caught up in his own thoughts, and sometimes he'd help her with small tasks—just ordinary moments that grounded him.
Life settled into a rhythm—morning coffee, work, quick lunch breaks, walks with his girls, and evenings spent quietly at home. For a while, it felt good to just exist without constantly testing the limits of his magic.
Zphyra and Cipher also comes manay times at night for his atttention while leaving work to Mygarth, th enoble demon who have turned full butler mode on, with now just his suit missing , working everything from A to Z for him, even looking after the hospital that is being build. while Cypher and Zephyra kep working s the underworld boss, the life for Alex was back on mundane in his own way.
One day, everything changed. A new visitor arrived at the clinic—a sharply dressed man in a suit, flanked by a few bodyguards. His presence was commanding, and he walked with an air of authority that immediately drew Alex's attention.
Maria glanced at Alex nervously. "They're here to see you," she said softly. "I don't know much, but… you should probably meet them."
Alex's curiosity spiked. He approached cautiously, eyes scanning the man and his guards. The visitor stopped a few feet away, looking Alex over with a measured gaze, as if weighing him.
"I've heard a lot about you," the man said, his voice calm but carrying authority. "We could use someone like you in our organization."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Organization? What… what kind of organization?"
The man smiled faintly. "Something you might consider… a favor for the right cause. You'd be joining us, but only if you choose. No pressure."
Alex hesitated, sensing the weight behind the offer. "And… what exactly would you want me to do?"
"That depends," the man replied, leaning slightly closer. "I can tell you about our operations, but first, I need to see if you're willing. We could take you to our base… introduce you to the rest. There, you'll see the full scope of what we do."
Alex studied him for a long moment, feeling the pull of curiosity and the faint thrill of the unknown. "And the organization? What's it called?"
The man's eyes held a flicker of amusement. "You'll learn soon enough. For now, just know that it's a place where your talents could matter—where you could make a difference."
Alex nodded slowly, letting the words sink in. There was a pause, a moment of quiet understanding. Finally, he exhaled. "Alright… I'll go with you. Show me what this is all about."
The man inclined his head, satisfied. "Good. Let's get moving, then."
As the bodyguards opened a path for them, Alex glanced back at Maria. "I'll leave it to you," he said quietly.
Maria nodded, concern in her eyes. "Take care," she replied.
Alex nodded and turned back, following the suited man. Inside, his mind raced. Hmm… only SHIELD knows about me. That probably means they're Hydra—or something like it, he thought. He studied the men around him carefully. Hmm, most likely they are planing to recruit me, and if I decline kill me at their base.
The idea itself amused him ' I hope, it would be atleast entertaining' he thought as he sat inside the car along with the man, completely unbothered.
