Keido Shūichirō clutched his pistol, eyes fixed on the swarm of Void armaments orbiting Rei Ao.
"What is that ability?!"
It couldn't possibly be standard Void Genome power. As Rei Ao strolled closer to Shu, an abrupt phenomenon took place: the hearts of all infected individuals lit up with purple. Those glimmers converged behind Rei Ao.
Simultaneously, innumerable lights streamed down from the sky, gathering at his back to form crystalline violet wings bridging earth and heaven.
Sensing something, everyone lifted their heads.
"That's…"
Ayase Shinomiya muttered blankly. It looked as if the sky had been ripped open. A pure-energy coronet descended slowly.
Only three people present truly recognized what it was.
"Impossible!"
Shu roared in fury.
"That crown should be mine!"
That was the Void Crown. Clearly he was Adam—how could some random man, unconnected to the virus, have it? The Void Crown flickered brilliantly, as though waiting for Rei Ao to claim it. But even before Rei Ao could lift a hand, two individuals rushed in: Gai and Keido Shūichirō.
"Only I can create the new world!!!"
They shared the same thought.
"Hmph."
Rei Ao gave a low snort. In a blink, both men froze in place, bodies immobilized in time, though their minds remained aware. They heard Rei Ao's dismissive tone:
"Though this thing is trash, it's still my creation—what makes you think you have the right to grab it?"
He caught the crown. Immediately, the world fell silent.
"No!"
Shu's eyes went wide, convinced Rei Ao would accept the coronet and become the genuine Void King. But what happened next left him dumbfounded.
"Crack!"
The Void Crown shattered in Rei Ao's hand, splintering into shards, which he casually brushed away—like sweeping away garbage?
Shu was completely baffled.
"That's the Void Crown!"
"Oh?"
Rei Ao gazed at him impassively, then sneered:
"I know exactly what the Void Crown is. I made it."
Just like those crystalline violet wings behind him, with a snap of his fingers, they disintegrated into dust. All the surrounding anomalies vanished as well.
"You lot seem to covet it—but sorry, in my eyes, it's just trash."
"What…?"
Shu murmured in disbelief.
"If I want that 'garbage power,' I can simply use it. Why would I need a crown's permission?"
"Mana, Inori."
Rei Ao called quietly. He lifted his hands, beckoning the void. Mana and Inori seemed to sense something, shutting their eyes.
Next instant, a rift opened in the space to his left, revealing a massive Apocalyptic sword entwined with brambles; to his right, a crimson-jewel-laden Void greatsword—both belonging to those two. Shu felt a spike of dread.
"No matter what you've done, there can only be one King. Die!"
Shu flung his arms. Vrrr! The giant tower quaked, spewing living crystal shards like a storm at Rei Ao. Calmly, Rei Ao crossed the two swords, unleashing intense radiance. The crystalline onslaught instantly vaporized in the light.
"This is the true power of the Void."
His voice boomed across the battlefield. When the light faded, the twin swords soared into the sky, fusing into a single colossal blade of radiance that cleaved straight down on the purple crystal tower. Time seemed to stop.
"Shhhh—!"
Effortlessly, the tower was bisected. At that same moment, every trace of the Apocalypse Virus crystals across the globe burst into purple motes.
"Aaaaaaaagh!!!"
Shu screamed. Because he'd merged with the virus and the tower, his body now cracked like fractured glass and began crumbling. Finally he understood: in Rei Ao's eyes, the so-called "Void King" was a joke. With one last, tortured wail, both Shu and the tower shattered into oblivion. Adam was gone, just like that.
"Um…anyone tell me what just happened?"
Tsugumi was dazed, feeling like she'd just stepped out of a fantasy. Arisa Kuhouin stared at Rei Ao with worshipful eyes.
"You don't have to know every detail. Just remember that once Master arrives, everything gets solved."
"Uh…"
Tsugumi couldn't find a retort.
Rei Ao overheard them clearly. But—
"It's not entirely over yet."
While Adam (Shu) was gone, the Apocalypse Virus itself persisted. So he took the chance to seize this world's Essence.
With no effort, he subdued it. When he opened his eyes again, he'd become the Only God of this world—something far beyond any Adam, Eve, or Void King. All voids bowed to Rei Ao, awaiting his command.
As Only God, the first priority, of course, was to end the disasters plaguing Inori's world—to grant his women a place of peace.
Rei Ao raised a finger to the sky. Void power converged from every corner, forming a halo in the heavens, large as the sun. It poured down not destruction but cleansing light.
"Begone, Apocalypse Virus."
A chant-like hum echoed worldwide. Where the light reached, the crystallized were restored to normal flesh. They gaped at their hands, hardly believing they were alive. GHQ's mechs ground to a halt, pilots clambering out and dropping to their knees as if witnessing a miracle.
But that was only the beginning. Rei Ao closed his eyes, sensing the countless souls who had died from the virus. Their fragments still drifted in the Void. Stretching out a hand, he gently clenched his fist:
"Come back."
Those souls returned to earth, regaining their bodies—including some who had perished on this battlefield. Yet not everyone could be revived. Some had died through overwhelming greed or cruelty, so they remained beyond saving—like Ouma Gai and Keido Shūichirō.
At first, their bodies began moving again, but before they could even be surprised, their forms crumbled to ash. Anyone who had dared harm Rei Ao's women no longer had a place among the living.
