The city lights flickered outside the window like silent witnesses. Sasha sat curled on her couch, her knees drawn to her chest, a glass of untouched wine trembling slightly in her grip.
Lex leaned on the kitchen counter, watching her quietly. He hadn't said much since he arrived, just offered comfort in his calm presence.
"I don't even know where to begin," Sasha whispered, her voice barely carrying across the room.
"Start where it hurts," Lex said gently.
She exhaled shakily. "I think I've ruined everything."
Lex walked over, sitting beside her. "Is it still going on?"
Sasha nodded slowly. "Yes. I tried to stop it, but every time we're apart, it's like something pulls us back."
Lex didn't look surprised. "We saw, Sasha. That night… when you were drpped off by your girl friends. Adrian and i wanted to congratulate you on yoyr promotion then..."
Sasha's face paled.
Lex continued, "We didn't mean to spy. But what we saw... it wasn't just sex. It was something deeper. That's what worries me."
Ssha's eyes welled up. "I never expected it to go this far. I thought I had control."
"Sasha, you're in too deep," Lex said. "And he's married. This… this will destroy you."
Before she could respond, there was a knock at the door.
It was Adrian.
Lex gave Sasha a knowing look, then stood. "I'll give you two space."
Adrian walked in, hands shoved into his pockets, eyes serious.
"I'll get straight to the point," he said. "Are you seeing Kian?"
Sasha opened her mouth, then closed it. The truth was heavy on her tongue.
"Yes."
Adrian didn't react outwardly. He sat down opposite her and stared at his hands. Silence stretched between them, thick with disappointment and something else—concern.
"Lex told me," Sasha added quietly. "About the night you saw us."
Adrian looked up. "We weren't spying. But I needed to hear it from you."
"I'm not proud," she said. "I didn't plan it. It just… happened. And then kept happening."
Adrian didn't speak for a while. Then he said, "I thought you were smarter than this."
Sasha looked away.
"But I also know how easy it is to get trapped in something that feels real," Adrian added.
She blinked back tears, then surprised him with something else. "There's more."
Adrian raised an eyebrow.
"I've been getting letters. And emails. Anonymous ones," she said. "It started a week ago. They're cryptic… some just say 'We know.' Others mention dates, places… even things Kian and I did."
Adrian's posture shifted. "You didn't tell anyone?"
"I was scared," she said. "I thought maybe Kian was playing some mind game. Or someone from the office. But now… it feels darker."
"Do you still have them?" Adrian asked.
She nodded. "All of them."
Adrian stood. "You need to show me. All of them."
Sasha walked into her room, returning with a box and her phone. She handed them over. Adrian flipped through the letters, his face growing grim.
"Some of these are typed, others handwritten. That's calculated," he muttered.
"I know," Sasha said. "And I don't think it's just about the affair anymore."
Adrian looked at her. "You think someone wants to hurt you?"
"I think someone already is."
Lex came back into the room, sensing the heaviness. "Everything okay?"
Adrian stood. "Not even close."
Sasha, suddenly exhausted, leaned back. "What am I supposed to do?"
Lex placed a hand on her shoulder. "Start by protecting yourself. Emotionally and otherwise."
Adrian nodded. "And keep this between us for now. If Kian finds out… things might spiral."
As the three sat in silence, the wind howled outside the window. Somewhere in the shadows of the city, someone was watching, and waiting.
