After officially being appointed as the school's psychology professor by Professor X, George began helping the students stabilize their powers one by one.
This even included the Beast, Hank. With George's assistance, Hank no longer needed to rely on medication — he could freely switch between his human and beast forms.
Just as George was halfway through aiding another student, the school's supersonic jet descended from the sky. Magneto stepped out first, stern-faced, dragging along a furious Wolverine — who was cursing "f**k" every few steps.
"Charles, here's the history teacher you asked for," Magneto announced flatly.
"But it seems he's lost his memory. You'll need to help him retrieve it."
After returning to the school earlier, Professor X had scanned the memories of the captured Stryker. From there, he discovered Wolverine's abduction and transformation into Weapon X.
Back then, it was Wolverine who traveled from the future to save them and change history. How could he now sit idly by and watch Logan be captured and tortured?
Without hesitation, he sent Magneto and Mystique to infiltrate Stryker's base overnight and bring Wolverine home.
Conveniently, this also filled the vacancy for a history teacher.
"Logan, relax."
Professor X approached Wolverine, gently placing his hand on Logan's forehead. He began to restore Logan's lost memories.
As fragments of his past resurfaced, Wolverine gradually calmed down.
While Professor X and Magneto continued speaking with Logan, Jean approached George on her own.
"Professor George… can you help me as well?"
Compared to the danger caused by other students' unstable abilities, the destruction wrought by her power was on an entirely different scale.
When her abilities first awakened, she sent every car on the entire street flying into the sky.
Even after arriving at the mutant school, despite Professor X's efforts to help her control her powers, every accidental outburst nearly destroyed the academy itself.
Even among mutants, she was seen as a dangerous anomaly.
But now, seeing George help others gain full control over their abilities, hope finally flickered in her heart.
"Of course."
George calmly reached out and rested his hand on Jean's head.
Professor X immediately noticed. The moment he realized George was stabilizing Jean's powers, he turned his gaze toward them.
He knew well that Jean possessed power far beyond both himself and Magneto. Naturally, she was of utmost importance.
If George could truly help Jean… it would be nothing short of miraculous.
"Jean, your situation is a bit more complicated."
George furrowed his brows deliberately. Instantly, the light in Jean's eyes dimmed.
"But not unsolvable."
Her hope rekindled.
Before she could ask further, Professor X had already stepped forward.
"What's the situation, George?"
"It's like this — inside Jean, there are two separate forces."
"The first one originates from her mutant gene. I've already stabilized that, allowing her to control it freely."
"But there's a second power — far stronger — and it doesn't come from her mutant genes. That one cannot be controlled."
George explained patiently.
Professor X finally understood. No wonder all his psychological therapy had failed; Jean's instability hadn't come from her mutant power alone. There was an external force interfering all along.
"You said just now that you can solve it?"
"Yes. I have another ability — one that can neutralize powers. But the force inside Jean is too strong. Fully dissolving it will take a long time."
"I just don't know whether Jean is willing to give up that power."
George turned toward her.
Jean nodded like a pecking chicken.
"I am! I'm willing!"
Forget that extra force — even if it meant losing her mutant ability entirely and becoming a normal human, she would accept it.
She had suffered under its torment for far too long.
"Since you are willing, then you must trust your teacher. Only if you trust me and do not resist can I dissolve that force within you — and allow you complete mastery over your abilities."
George gently patted her head.
Jean nodded firmly.
"That's about it for Jean's case."
Trust could not be built in a few sentences.
But he was confident — as long as Jean could feel the Phoenix Force truly diminishing, as long as she felt its influence weakening, her trust in him would only grow.
The more she trusted, the less resistance there would be. The less resistance, the more Phoenix Force he could devour. The more he devoured, the more she trusted — a perfect cycle.
"Next is Wanda, the Scarlet Witch."
One must never put all their eggs in one basket.
Absorbing Jean's Phoenix Force alone would likely elevate him to a single-universe tier.
But accidents could happen. Just to be safe, he would not give up on Wanda's Chaos Magic. He would proceed with both.
There was no such thing as too much power.
That evening, in the mutant school's conference room, all the adult mutants — Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Havok, Mystique, Quicksilver, Wolverine, George, and more — gathered together.
"Erik and I have reached a decision. We will officially establish a Mutant Empire. No longer just a school."
Professor X spoke solemnly.
"We shall stand equal to human nations. We will communicate with them as equals — and ensure they never again dare to capture mutants for experimentation."
The moment his words fell, Magneto followed up:
"And if necessary — we will reveal our weapons. We will show human nations that provoking us will carry consequences no less severe than provoking a nuclear superpower."
"He's right — but only when necessary."
This time, Professor X did not refute him entirely. He merely nodded helplessly.
Before, even after receiving a warning from that mysterious powerhouse from another universe, he had hesitated and never fully agreed to Magneto's Mutant Empire proposal.
It was only after witnessing Stryker's memories — and recalling the future Wolverine had seen — that he understood the truth.
Perhaps that being from another universe had been right all along.
Humans would never truly accept mutants.
If that was the case, why continue to appease them? Why follow their laws?
Why not create their own empire, establish their own laws, build their own society?
Then, mutant students would no longer need to hide their powers and live as ordinary people after graduation. Instead, they could enter a society made entirely by and for mutants, using their knowledge and abilities to earn a living freely.
"I agree!"
George was the first to raise his hand in support — this was exactly the outcome he had hoped for.
If this truly came to pass, he wouldn't mind lending further assistance. Not only would he stabilize the students' powers, he would develop them — raising the Mutant Empire's strength to unprecedented heights.
