"Oh, shit. That was brutal! Principal, starting today, you've officially replaced Kevin Bacon as my idol!"
Inside the Ravager's base ship, Star-Lord stared wide-eyed at George ripping the Dark Aster in half and boldly shouting at Thanos and Ronan below. Moments ago, he'd been complaining that George was reckless for not following his plan—now his jaw nearly hit the floor from shock.
"Peter, that's not what you were saying just a moment ago,"
Rocket, equally stunned, still found time to throw shade at Star-Lord.
"Thanos, you're dead today!"
Gamora looked down at Thanos, who sat upon his throne. Her expression shifted rapidly, a storm of emotions brewing inside her.
She had dreamed countless times of killing Thanos, avenging her family and people. But now that it seemed like he might actually die, a faint sadness stirred deep in her heart.
But Thanos was not someone who would sit around waiting for death.
Seeing Sanctuary II, the super warship he had spent years constructing, destroyed in an instant—and his meticulously assembled cosmic army being slaughtered by George like dry twigs—rage surged straight to his head.
"Ebony Maw, send me up there!"
Drawing his signature Double-Edged Tyrant Blades, Thanos issued the order.
He wasn't charging in blindly out of fury—he knew that if he didn't step in personally now, defeat was inevitable.
As for whether he could take on this so-called George, the monstrous being in the sky, he wasn't without confidence.
George's destructive power was indeed terrifying—but his massive size also came with blind spots. If Ebony Maw could get him close enough, he could use his deadly blades to pierce George's weak points and bring him down.
Ebony Maw clearly shared faith in Thanos' strength—an unshakable belief forged over countless victorious campaigns across the cosmos.
Upon receiving the command, he immediately activated his abilities, levitating several metal plates. With them, he lifted not only Thanos, but also Black Dwarf, Corvus Glaive, and Proxima Midnight into the air.
"Perfect timing."
Having just ravaged the sky, taking down most of the Leviathans and surrounding ships, George sensed the approach of Thanos and his elite warriors. He reverted from his dragon form back into his humanoid shape.
Thanos possessed formidable physical strength, and paired with his deadly Double-Edged Tyrant Blades, even a single misstep could lead to injury.
Just like a man can swat a hornet to death, but if he gets stung in the wrong place, it can still swell into a dangerous wound—or even prove fatal.
So, to counter Thanos' sneak attack, George deemed his human form more suitable.
Although the human form lacked the raw power and durability of his dragon form, it was far more agile and better suited for casting magic and using psychic powers in tandem.
Besides, with most of the enemy ships already destroyed, there was no longer any concern of Thanos escaping. It was the perfect opportunity to test out the new spells he had recently studied.
Opportunities to experiment on live targets were rare—especially ones this durable—and he didn't even have to worry about holding back.
"Trying to come up here? Back down you go!"
Seeing George suddenly shift forms midair, the four warriors were momentarily stunned. But they reacted quickly, charging toward him using Ebony Maw's floating metal plates.
George, however, immediately activated his telekinetic abilities and seized control of the very plates carrying them.
While Ebony Maw's telekinesis covered a wide range of materials—metal, wood, stone—when it came to metal specifically, George's mastery far surpassed his.
And so, in the struggle for control, George easily overpowered him.
With the plates yanked out from under them, the flightless Thanos and his three lieutenants plummeted from the sky.
But with their enhanced physical bodies, they certainly wouldn't die from such a fall. They adjusted their landing mid-air and touched down safely, forming a line before George.
"You didn't come here just because you received a distress signal, did you?"
Thanos looked up at the Ravager ship descending slowly behind George, narrowing his eyes as he questioned him.
Gamora had claimed the Cosmic Cube and even hijacked a Ravager mothership—yet the moment she arrived, George appeared.
Worse still, he announced he was from Tulan.
No matter how dull-witted, they all knew his arrival wasn't due to a distress call—it was tied to Gamora.
"Of course not," George said, flipping his hand. A grin spread across his face as he produced the Cosmic Cube from his transdimensional stash.
"I heard you're offering a billion-credit bounty for this toy. Well, here it is—hand-delivered."
"The Space Stone… excellent. You have my thanks."
Thanos's eyes narrowed as he nodded to Ebony Maw.
Ebony Maw immediately activated his telekinesis, attempting to draw the Cube toward him.
"Tch!"
The Cube lifted an instant—but then plummeted back into George's hand. From the ground behind Ebony Maw, a spike forged entirely of metal shot upward, impaling him through the back of his skull.
Though Ebony Maw's powers were formidable—enough to surprise an unprepared Doctor Strange—his frail body made him the easiest of the group to kill.
Had that strike been aimed at anyone else—Thanos, Proxima Midnight, or Corvus Glaive—they would have dodged in time; only Black Dwarf might have taken a hit, and even then Thanos's own durability would have prevented real harm.
"I haven't even spoken," George sneered, pocketing the Cube as he looked down at Maw's lifeless body. "So tell me—who moved first?"
Then he turned back to Thanos. "I'll give you the Cube… but only in exchange for your head."
"You're asking for death!" Thanos growled.
Before he could finish, Black Dwarf roared in fury. He hefted his massive axe and leapt toward George.
"Down!"
With a single downward gesture, George's telekinesis slammed Black Dwarf face-first into the ground with brutal force.
Black Dwarf's armor and axe were made of metal—perfect conductors for George's power. In fact, George's mastery of metal manipulation now rivaled the filmic Magneto, able to exert tens of millions of tons of force at will. He could have let Black Dwarf "fly a kite" if he'd wished.
Honestly, with telekinesis alone—and without a single spell—he could easily handle foes of "Black Obsidian" caliber.
But against Thanos himself? That would require the added might of his magic.
