Chapter 5 - chapter 5 : Ranking....

Somewhere far away, on another planet...

This planet was ten times larger than Jupiter, and the creatures that roamed it dwarfed those of Earth. It was divided into five continents—the Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern, and Central continents—and home to many races, including dragons, giants, elves, and dwarves.

Within the Central Continent, deep inside a hidden cave spanning nearly 500 meters, two colossal beings stood facing each other. One towered a hundred meters tall, the other sixty-four.

"Chaos, what you've done is commendable," a deep voice rumbled, reverberating through the cave walls. It came from a massive red dragon whose scales shimmered like molten fire. "Now, aside from a few Rank 1 existences among the humans, we also have several top-tier Rank 0 individuals."

Beside him stood the smaller black dragon, Chaos. "Yes, Sir Fire Blade," Chaos replied respectfully. "But Commander, what happens next?"

"Next?" Fire Blade growled, his voice shaking the cavern. "In about two hours, all Rank 0 existences will be forced to log out. This doesn't apply to every race—only to humans and other weaker species, due to our fragile physical forms."

He paused, his tone darkening. "And in two hours, chaos will erupt on Earth. First, players will experience stat feedback—every ability reduced by a factor of ten compared to their in-game selves. Second... if you die once in the game, you die in real life."

Chaos's pupils constricted to pinpoints as dread washed over him. His massive frame trembled. Were his siblings already dead? His friends? Why hadn't the government warned anyone? But as he thought deeper, the truth became painfully clear—if people had known, no one would've dared to play. Without the game, humanity would never grow strong enough to face what was coming.

"Chaos," Fire Blade said gravely, "every second matters. We Rank 1 existences won't log out, so the preparations fall on your shoulders. Control the others. Form a council. Contain the panic. Tell them the truth. In one month, Earth will merge with Limit Breaker. By then, we must have at least one Rank 3 existence—or our civilization is finished."

The red dragon's gaze lingered on the smaller one for a brief moment before his body dissolved into light, vanishing from the cave.

Chaos stood frozen, horror etched across his draconic face. His thoughts spiraled as one chilling question echoed in his mind:

What kind of demonic game is this?

At the Second Abyss

Void listened to the worldwide announcement directed at all lower-ranked races, especially those at Rank 0. It stated that everyone would be logged out in two hours. Like the others, Void was shocked, yet there was nothing he could do but accept it. In only eight hours of gameplay, everyone's mindset had shifted drastically. But none of them knew that upon logging out, humanity would face the greatest tragedy in its history.

On Earth

When the Rank 0 existences logged out, they immediately felt a strange surge of power coursing through their bodies. Many threw punches at nearby walls, only to recoil in disbelief as their homes crumbled and concrete shattered like glass.

But the exhilaration was short-lived. The sight of blood-filled capsules—friends and family lying lifeless inside—stripped away every trace of excitement. Screams, sobs, and furious wails filled the air. Grief turned entire cities silent.

That day would forever be remembered as the darkest in human history.

Void opened his capsule, excitement bubbling within him—until he saw his parents' chambers. His heart froze. The capsules brimmed with blood—no flesh, no bones, no trace of life.

"Mom… Dad…" His voice cracked as he called out softly, trembling as he opened the capsules.

Nothing. Only blood.

"Why... why... WHY?!" Void's voice erupted, raw and broken. He fell to his knees, fists hammering the ground in agony.

Boom! The entire street trembled from the impact. Before logging out, Void had reached Level 42. Even with humanity's tenfold suppression, his strength equaled thirty-three times the power of an elephant.

He kept striking the ground until his knuckles split and his blood mingled with the dirt. Buildings around him collapsed under the shockwaves. For an hour, only the sounds of destruction and despair echoed through the ruins—then, silence.

The Next Day

By 10:00 a.m., Earth had become a ghost world. Streets lay empty, and despair hung in the air like fog. Some, driven mad by grief, even killed their pets and animals in blind rage.

"Oh, you've managed well," came a thin, mocking female voice. "Yes, this is the first global destruction you humans have witnessed. If you don't want moreor worse, the extinction of your civilization, I suggest you get stronger."

It was the Loli Fairy. No one dared to speak.

"Well then... good luck! Log in soonand don't forget to help me," she cackled. The transmission ended, leaving behind only an eerie silence.

Far Away

Chaos's voice suddenly resonated in every human's soul.

"My name is Chaos, one of humanity's peak Rank 0 existences," he said solemnly. "I'm speaking to you through the help of spirit-reborn humans."

"First, the higher-ups apologize. But this... was necessary. Our goal is simple now: grow stronger, and destroy anything that stands in our way. In a month, we'll be reborn into a new universe—not as avatars, but as true beings. We will all bear one emblem—the mark of humanity."

He paused to let his words sink in.

"Other, stronger races will be reborn in their original forms. This is our chance to rise. Destroy the node points in the new world to ensure the merger succeeds," he continued firmly. "You've mourned your dead. Now it's time to move forward. Surviving is victoryeverything else is secondary."

Then Chaos began calling names,Void, Celestial Maiden, Feng Lin, and others—assigning them to a new ranking system.

"Log in soon," he ordered. "You will be guided by the higher-ups."

With that, the connection ended.

"Everyone, log in now!" Chaos's final voice echoed. "You can awaken the primordial bloodline of your race. Good luck!"

And just like that, the world shifted again. Players could now enter Limit Breaker simply by thinking of it—their bodies safely stored in suspended spaces where time itself stood still..
