Chapter 166 - Another Method

With all of the Shadow Clones returning to him, Suguru sorted out their memories and thoughts.

"Hmmm,"

While he did so, his gaze inadvertently moved towards the white slab. The Human Clone Chakra Farm was in constant flux, growing Human Clones every second. The unnatural nature of its chakra absorption piqued Suguru's interest.

Although this was one of the features he had deliberately designed, there seemed to be developments that he had overlooked as trivial.

One such development was embarrassingly simple — the white slab had begun absorbing Natural Energy.

'Perhaps this is the influence of the DNA from Jugo's Clan... Is it going berserk because I keep cutting down its Human Clones?'

That meant that the slab keenly perceived pain despite its lack of a brain, which was different from what Suguru had initially assumed.

'Is it less of a plant and more of an invertebrate like jellyfishes and starfishes?'

Thinking this, Suguru could no longer avoid considering the necessity of a mind for the Sharingan.

'Even though it is in so much pain, its fruits don't unlock their Sharingan...'

He also had to consider the unnatural maturation of a Human Clone's body — would the same apply to the eyes he would extract from them? If so, it would be widely impractical.

'Perhaps those kinds of eyes can only become consumables...'

Either for Izanagi or Izanami.

A short laugh escaped Suguru's lips just then. He found the entire idea laughable — especially given how much value the Sharingan had been given in the original.

For him to warp it so much that such eyes would become nothing but consumable tools...

"It's an odd feeling," He muttered, finally concluding his thoughts.

'I have no choice but to create a different slab.'

There was no ingenious method to scientific success, only tedious repetition and endless work.

Suguru, as he had done almost as often as Naruto at this point, put his hands together and formed a single hand seal. His side research into Senju Tobirama's jutsus had yielded fruit just a few minutes ago.

A group of his clones had deduced the method for the jutsu hidden in the Scroll of Seals.

'Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu,'

Falling into the endless process of creating another slab of white flesh, Suguru allowed the month of June to whizz past him. The days turned into weeks.

Dozens of clones, working tirelessly day and night.

Suguru, devouring every Human Clone birthed by the original Human Clone Chakra Farm.

The world outside, churning due to the schemes of a dead man.

A lot was happening, yet Fate continued to delegate its tasks.

"It's about time I get moving again..."

Muttering to himself, Suguru threw an Energy Pill into his mouth and sighed contentedly. In front of him was a white cube, pulsating with life and filled with plenty of slumbering eyes. The cube itself was quite large — about eight cubic feet in volume.

Looking at it, Suguru touched the bags under his eyes, wondering why he even tried.

'In the end, I failed at creating another white slab. Instead, I had to overhaul everything I knew — I've ended up forcefully creating an abomination more terrifying than the last.'

To put it incredibly simply, the white cube that Suguru created was a self-sustaining brain.

By manipulating its memories through the Sharingan's Genjutsu, Suguru could induce emotions in it and forcefully awaken the Sharingan in any one of its [open] eyes. Then, by making it suffer even more using a very delicate array of Genjutsu, he could slowly progress the evolution of its Dojutsu.

Once a fully mature set of Sharingan had been born, Suguru could pluck out the eyes and allow the white cube to heal.

It was an astonishing piece of biotechnology.

Suguru thus aptly named the cube, [Gannoujou], also known as the Eye Farm.

With it, he could finally supply Kumo with Amai's specialty product — and Suguru couldn't stop smiling.

It was like his face had turned into a clown mask, grinning widely from ear to ear as if even the saddest of realities had turned delightful.

'Ay would most certainly kill to study the Sharingan... I wonder if I should rig every pair I sell with Juinjutsu.'

Suguru blinked. Something dawned upon him just then, arriving like an egg falling from the sky.

'No... I've recently made advancements into my derivative of Ninshu. I should, at the very least, use them as extensions of myself.'

If Suguru could tap into the eyes he sells as sources of visual information, perhaps he could command an unwilling spy network in the future. If even Ay could be tempted into implanting the Sharingan into himself, then Suguru could secretly take control of Kumogakure itself!

"Hoho... The technology for that will take a while — perhaps I can just leave a few security measures and a Possibility Seal, like the one Hiruzen has."

Suddenly, Suguru frowned.

"No, that won't work... Ninshu is always a two-way street. Even my Juin-ninshu is the same."

It was similar to an occupational hazard. Establishing a connection with someone using Ninshu always led to an exchange, whether memories, emotions, or the entirety of one's heart.

Suguru would reveal himself to those he spied on — a counterintuitive action if he wanted to establish an unwilling spy network.

"I'll put it off until after the Chuunin Exam arc."

With June ending and the start of July just on the horizon, Suguru wanted to return to Konoha. Despite all of his actions, he had a feeling that the universe still had a certain directionality towards its existence.

Asura and Indra's reincarnations were bound to their battles and the former was bound to Asura's final goal.

Given the opposing Will of Fire and Curse of Hatred, Suguru had long surmised that the butterfly could only do so much — some things were destined to happen.

It might not be in the way Suguru knew, but it was already woven into Fate.

'The original will most likely proceed as an alternate version — much like those episodes from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.'

Excitement was boiling within his silver gaze.

With the chaos he wanted to cause, he couldn't help but let his imagination run wild regarding how Naruto and Sasuke would fight.

What other method was out there?
