Beiqi is nestled in the corner of the Nine Countries, bordered in the north and east by the Liao Clan. Only a small segment of its southeast faces the ocean, occasionally facing raids by Hai Li. But Hai Li mainly targets Southern Qi and Wu Country, so Beiqi is not under much pressure.
In Northern Liao, Beiqi faces only sporadic small tribes. This region is dry with little rain and is mostly endless desert, difficult for the Liao Clan to survive in and sparsely populated.
So Beiqi has remained peaceful over the years. Additionally, Xu Shuhai has been near the end of his life for over a century, and has acted low-key, so few major related events have been heard.
