September of the twelfth year of Hongjing, Qingming welcomed the annual Dao Foundation Ceremony once again. This time, over fifty thousand template Dao Foundations were established, an unprecedented scale, and the world had become accustomed to it.
Within Qingming, most template Dao Foundations work in industries such as factories, energy, and mining. Outside of Qingming, template Dao Foundations are either illegitimate offspring serving in low-level official positions or, if legitimate, are used solely for life extension, consistently unable to enter prestigious circles.
Thus, even now, most families and noble houses view the template Dao Foundations as ornate pillows—attractive but useless—and do not take them seriously. Due to the limitations of their cultivation, they cannot climb to high positions. Year after year, the Dao Foundation Ceremonies pass, and even the Ji Zhao Cui Family and Zhao Li regard it as a routine activity, paying no heed.
