He knew that although he survived the contest against the Burning Sky Dragon Fire, he hadn't managed to tame and refine it. Neither could the exotic fire affect him, nor could he affect the exotic fire. Ultimately, the exotic fire attached itself to him, resulting in this very peculiar state.
Before completely refining the Burning Sky Dragon Fire, Ling Feng would likely remain in this "Fire Man" state, with his powers inherently limited, needing to be used to resist the exotic fire burning his body.
