The cold rain seemed warmer than her own body. She felt the relentless downpour hitting her numbly.
The blows landed on her eyes, but she didn't close them, for once they were shut, it might be eternal night.
Stubborn and defiant, she kept her eyes wide open, for she harbored a lot of resentment and discontent.
Yet her life force was rapidly ebbing away with the blood from her body, merging with the rain, swiftly departing from her.
But there was nothing she could do; she didn't even have the strength to glance at them.
Despite the myriad of frustrations in her heart, it ultimately became nothing more than a stagnant dead water, waiting to dry up, be trampled, and be obliterated...
Her consciousness grew hazy, perhaps she really was going to die?
Although her enemy wasn't dead, maybe she could see her parents now, and maybe that was a different kind of happiness?
