"I used to think so too," Shi Lingyan stood up, "but later, I found that many things actually go against our wishes."
Madam Bai's face once again showed sorrow.
Shi Lingyan said, "I have to leave now, there are things to take care of at home."
"Won't you stay a little longer?"
Shi Lingyan shook his head, "You should rest well."
"Alright," Madam Bai looked somewhat regretful, "Old Liu, would you see Ling Yan out?"
Uncle Liu still wore a gentlemanly smile on his face and said to Shi Lingyan, "Mr. Shi, this way, please."
As Uncle Liu walked Shi Lingyan out, they happened to come face to face with Mr. Bai heading their way.
Mr. Bai's gaze upon Shi Lingyan was complex as he looked intently at him.
And Shi Lingyan, with an unchanged expression, merely nodded slightly to Mr. Bai as a greeting, then quickly walked ahead.
Uncle Liu's gaze met Mr. Bai's, and shortly thereafter, continued with his duty.
Both men entered the elevator, standing side by side.
