"Okay," Shi Mei smiled and picked up the knife and fork. "I once had a dream where I had dinner like this with my husband, and then I asked you if we would be together forever."
Shi Lingyan's eyebrows lifted slightly. "And then?"
"And then, you didn't answer before I woke up from the dream," Shi Mei said, her head lowered as she pouted and poked at the steak in front of her.
For some reason, Shi Lingyan felt a twinge of self-reproach when he heard these childishly naive words. She understood nothing, like an innocent child who saw him as the only person she could rely on.

Shi Mei wrestled with her steak, chewing ferociously, and when she caught his gaze, she smiled even more brilliantly.
