The Plague Ghost used to have its heyday.
Back then, all the men would grow their hair long. During the annual sacrifices to the gods, it was always a key part of the ritual, and on ordinary days, when women scolded their children or lectured their husbands, they would often curse, "You useless Plague Ghost!"
To be honest, for so many years, its notoriety was quite high, and it carried an aura of deterrent with it wherever it went, always causing everyone to be in fear. How triumphant it must have felt!
In those days, only the wealthy families bathed daily. The commonfolk, the peddlers, the lower classes, toiled from dawn till dusk, inevitably accumulating dirt and grime on their bodies. Their personal hygiene and their living environments were shrouded in pestilential miasmas, which it was always called upon to clear.
Yet, despite so many years of cultivation, because its abilities were harmful to the heavens, it never grew up, which was quite an injustice in its heart.
