The next morning, Lilith set out early, her eyes still holding that sharp glint of curiosity from the night before. She drove herself toward City N, the sun rising slowly behind her as the cool air brushed against the windows of her car. She had already entered the address Krystal gave her into the map, and the GPS guided her steadily through winding highways and roads.
The drive took nearly three hours.
By the time she arrived, she felt a dull ache in her shoulders and a headache beginning to bloom from the long trip. She sighed and gently pressed two fingers against her temple, allowing a soft wave of healing energy to move through her body. Her fatigue faded almost instantly. The human body she now inhabited was fragile, but with her powers… she could manage it well enough.
