Chapter 203 - Chapter 203: The Stage is Set

The League of Villains openly targeting Japanese government officials sparked mixed reactions. On one hand, the public was enjoying the spectacle. Many people had long been fed up with these corrupt politicians who did nothing but talk, and now that solid evidence had been exposed before they were taken down, it was oddly satisfying.

On the other hand, the Japanese government was in a crisis. This was no different from having the League of Villains step all over them. Not only was it humiliating, but the public's growing resentment—deliberately fueled by the situation—had made things even worse. Now, people were just waiting for their so-called leaders to make fools of themselves.

Desperate, top government officials turned to All Might, practically begging him to take action. They pleaded with him to capture the League of Villains as soon as possible, and if necessary, eliminate them on the spot. The government assured him of their full support.

"...These guys... Sigh..."

All Might wasn't impressed by their attitude, but there wasn't much else he could do except sigh. From a hero's perspective, what Midoriya Izuku had done by leading the League of Villains was completely wrong. If the Japanese government truly collapsed... society might return to the chaos of the past.

"All Might, this situation could turn out really bad..."

Sir Nighteye, troubled by the terrifying future he had foreseen, could only watch as events unfolded exactly as he feared. The feeling of helplessness filled him with regret and dread.

"I know. But I have to step forward... because I am the Symbol of Peace."

Midoriya Izuku and the League of Villains couldn't be allowed to continue down this path. In his name, All Might gathered every top-tier pro hero. The Japanese government also mobilized the police to support them. This time, they had to bring down the League of Villains for good.

Meanwhile, the powerful families and corporations secretly controlling Japan were also making their moves. The League of Villains' direct challenge to authority had shaken their grip on power. The ruling class decided they couldn't let this situation continue any longer.

So, it wasn't just All Might and the heroes taking action—something far more sinister was brewing beneath the surface. The underworld was also mobilizing.

Why were there so many villains in Japanese society?

One reason was the crushing pressure and oppression from all levels of society. Some people would rather embrace a life of crime than continue their miserable existence. But another reason... was the simple fact that crime had a place in the system.

As mentioned before, "brokers" acted as intermediaries, setting up jobs for villains. The darker side of Japanese society was full of people like them, whose job was to match criminals with "work" suited to their violent tendencies.

Smuggling, drug trafficking, contract killings—these illegal trades thrived because there were always powerful people profiting behind the scenes. Light and darkness had always coexisted, and that wasn't going to change anytime soon.

The League of Villains had crossed a line, threatening not only the government but also the underground criminal network.

After all, their targets were villains who had committed major crimes. By pushing other villains into a corner, the League of Villains had made enemies out of their own kind.

However, after Midoriya Izuku's last massacre, most of these villains had scattered like sewer rats, too scared to show their faces. No one wanted to be the next to fall.

But now, with certain powerful figures pulling the strings, they were gathering once again. This time, their numbers were greater than ever. Their sheer size seemed to give them the confidence that they could finally overthrow the League of Villains.

The government was taking a two-pronged approach:

- On the surface, All Might and the pro heroes were launching a large-scale operation to capture the League of Villains.

- Behind the scenes, the underground crime syndicates were preparing to ambush them from the shadows.

For once, the Japanese government was showing some real resolve—they weren't just aiming to suppress their opponents, but to wipe them out completely.

As this massive storm gathered, the League of Villains had already seen everything coming.

And yet, their leader remained unfazed.

After all... this was all part of the plan.

"Midoriya, did you just go back to your room to make a call?"

Shinso Hitoshi was curious. Ever since Midoriya Izuku had joined the League of Villains, his phone had been shut off, completely unreachable. Now, Shinso finally understood why—Midoriya had destroyed it to prevent the police from tracking him.

But just now, Midoriya had borrowed Kurogiri's phone and made a call in his room. That made Shinso even more curious.

Who could Midoriya Izuku possibly be calling at a time like this?

"I just called my parents to let them know I'm okay. I'm planning to visit them in the U.S. soon."

"Oh, I see..."

Shinso found Midoriya's response both surprising and reassuring.

His friend had changed a lot since joining the League of Villains, but at the same time... he really hadn't changed at all.

The "Steel Wire Death God" was still just Midoriya Izuku.

"By the way, I have a question."

"What is it?"

As Shinso asked, Midoriya casually picked up a psychology book and started flipping through it. There was still so much he needed to learn.

"Why have you kept this look ever since you joined the League of Villains? I mean, the black hair."

"Oh, that?"

Midoriya ran a hand through his dark hair. Ever since he had started acting independently within the League of Villains, he had never gone back to his green-haired look. Instead, he always appeared as the "Steel Wire Death God"—Akaya Kaiun.

"Because I am the Steel Wire Death God. That's what everyone called me in the first place, right?"

"Is that so?"

Shinso Hitoshi found it a little strange, but he didn't plan to press further. This was Midoriya's own decision.

"By the way, what about that man? The one who gave you the Quirk."

"You mean All For One?"

Shinso asked again. He knew that Midoriya Izuku now had a terrifying Quirk, but ever since that time, he hadn't seen that man show up at this bar again.

"He said his work was done. Now, he's just sitting back and watching, waiting for our grand performance on stage."

"That really… suits his style."

Shinso sighed helplessly. He understood that Midoriya Izuku becoming like this was largely because of that man, but there was no point in dwelling on it. In the end, everyone chose their own path. Just like how he had chosen to betray the heroes and become a villain.

As long as you didn't regret it, that was all that mattered.

"Now, we just wait for everyone to step onto the stage and put on the final show."
