Rose was sitting next to Valery's seat. Previously, she had been so nervous about Valery's anger that she couldn't sit next to her or even get close to her. Like her, the vampires in charge of the palanquin didn't want to get close, but they were still there fulfilling their roles while their bodies trembled with fear.
Earlier, she had rejected Valery's requests for them to return to their places. What Valery had just done left them terrified. In addition to the weight of her strong disappointment in them, it had impacted them psychologically, making them feel pitiful and disgusted with themselves.
If Valery hadn't given them a cold and dangerous look, they wouldn't have returned to their places as they were now.
Valery watched the battle while her cold gaze made the vampires in her army tremble. They felt more fear toward her than toward the enemy, and so they fought hard and gave their utmost effort.
