General Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight were sent by Thanos on a mission to locate one of the six Infinity Stones—the Space Stone. Thanos, with the aid of the Mind Stone, could sense the general location of the other Stones. However, if a Stone was sealed or concealed, detecting it became significantly more difficult.
Recently, he had sensed one of the Infinity Stones emitting a powerful energy signature in a distant region of the universe. It was the Space Stone. However, the Stone's location was concerning: a blue planet within Asgard's sphere of influence, inhabited by a primitive civilization that hadn't yet reached interstellar travel. Learning this, he decided against a direct assault. While the locations of all the Stones remained unknown, he didn't want to provoke a conflict with powerful empires.
Nevertheless, Thanos wasn't going to remain idle. He dispatched his generals, Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, to scout the situation on the planet called Earth and assess the strength of both Asgard and Earth itself. Although the planet seemed insignificant from a universal perspective, he was aware of it.
Years ago, a powerful being repelled a Kree fleet and declared Earth under her protection, forbidding them from encroaching on its territory. Soon, this being, known as Captain Marvel, became renowned throughout the universe for her exploits.
Thanos was aware of Captain Marvel's power, which is why he decided to test both her and Asgard. As part of his plan, he entrusted Corvus with the Mind Stone. If his generals' mission succeeded, he would acquire a second Infinity Stone. However, even in case of failure, he was confident in his ability to retrieve the lost Stone—he didn't doubt his own power.
However, due to Noah's intervention, events unfolded differently: Loki didn't fall from the Bifrost, and Thanos didn't find him drifting in space. This forced his generals to resort to abducting scientists from various planets to open a portal, but their success was limited.
Aboard the Chitauri mothership, Corvus furiously berated the assembled scientists. "If you don't deliver results, you will all face the wrath of the Mad Titan!" he roared, his gaze cold and menacing.
The scientists captured by the Chitauri trembled with fear. They had witnessed him kill those who failed to meet his demands—to pinpoint the coordinates of the strongest energy source.
To these researchers, Corvus was the embodiment of a ruthless killer. And judging by his expression, he was ready to resume his killing spree, which terrified them even more.
"Please, give us a little more time! Since Bryn joined us, our research has accelerated significantly, and we're almost there," one of the scientists, with pink skin, stepped forward.
This pink-skinned researcher resembled a human in appearance, except for their skin color. However, they weren't an Earthling but a representative of one of the three largest cosmic empires—the Kree Empire. Although most members of their race had blue skin, pink-skinned Kree also held important positions within their society.
This particular researcher resembled the Kree captain from the first "Captain Marvel" movie.
Originally, their race consisted of pure-blooded blue-skinned individuals, but later, as they established their empire and began conquering space, they intermingled with other species. This led to the emergence of pink-skinned Kree, who eventually achieved equal status with their blue-skinned counterparts within their society.
This specific researcher worked in a laboratory on a small planet within the Kree Empire's domain. One day, the Chitauri suddenly attacked their base, destroying everything. Few scientists managed to survive. The survivors were captured and brought to the Chitauri mothership, where they were forced to conduct research.
But what the Chitauri demanded they study was completely incomprehensible to them. Despite the provided data, most of it pertained to Asgardian magical knowledge, which the scientists had never encountered before. This significantly hampered their work. Witnessing General Corvus Glaive kill their colleagues one after another for failed tasks, they were filled with fear, worried that they would soon meet the same fate.
Recently, the Chitauri captured a wandering Asgardian researcher named Bryn, giving the team of scientists a glimmer of hope. Thanks to Bryn, their work accelerated, but Glaive was losing patience.
"You have one more day. If you fail to complete the task, I will replace you with another team," the general thundered, threatening the scientists.
The Kree couldn't respond, only nodding submissively and hurrying back to their work. They understood: if they didn't achieve success within the allotted time, they all faced death.
Returning to the others, the scientist relayed the general's words, which made everyone contemplate their future. They knew that Thanos, known as the Mad Titan, was cruel and merciless. Rumors circulated that on every planet he set foot on, he eradicated half the population. Even if they completed the task, their chances of survival were slim.
However, they had no other choice. Each of them worked with redoubled effort, afraid to make a mistake. And soon, a joyful cry rang out from among the group of scientists:
"We did it!"
