As the golden flames illuminated the surroundings, Lin San could now see everything clearly.
"What is this..."
Upon closer inspection, the walls and the ground seemed to be covered with numerous granules.
Under the light of the golden flames, these granules glimmered sharply.
"It looks like some kind of special ore."
"Could this be a high-grade material for crafting?"
Seeing this, Lin San was silently astonished.
Although he wasn't sure of its exact value, based on his instinct, these materials seemed to be of some use.
After a moment of hesitation, with a mere thought, the granules on the ground disappeared rapidly, all being stored into his spatial storage.
Without pausing, he continued walking forward.
The passage was long, and as Lin San advanced, he noticed many remnants of old buildings scattered along the ground.
It seemed that beneath this passage lay a buried ancient city.
"What's this…"
Soon, Lin San found some old books among the ruins.
The books appeared to be made from a special material.
Though they were covered in dust and dirt, they weren't damaged.
Lin San picked one up and blew the dust off, revealing the pages beneath.
"Just like the books Tang Wutian mentioned before," Lin San murmured with curiosity.
Why would Tang Wutian, a nine-star Martial God, be interested in these ancient books?
Without hesitation, Lin San opened the book.
The contents were similar to what he had seen in the book Tang Wutian possessed — strange, unreadable characters.
However, the cover of this book bore something resembling numbers.
"Could this be the number nineteen?"
Lin San pondered for a moment as he looked at the symbol on the cover.
Forget it.
Even though he didn't understand it, taking it with him was definitely a safe bet.
With a thought, the book disappeared into his storage space.
He continued walking forward, and the number of ruins on the ground increased.
It was as if he had stepped into a long-forgotten, ruined city.
...
"He's been inside for a while now."
"Nothing seems to have happened yet. Maybe this time there won't be any danger?"
Back in the previous chamber, the Martial Gods were whispering among themselves.
Lin San had entered the passage for quite some time now, but no sounds or disturbances had come from within.
"Maybe he's already been killed," a Martial God suddenly suggested, causing the others to tense up as if they had been doused with cold water.
They all knew firsthand the power Lin San had displayed.
To easily slay an eight-star Martial God made him one of the strongest among them.
"Maybe we should wait a little longer," another Martial God suggested cautiously.
The others exchanged glances, and though they didn't speak, none dared to act rashly.
Meanwhile, Lin San had ventured much deeper into the passage.
"I didn't expect there to be so many things here."
As he walked, his astonishment only grew.
The ground was littered with ancient relics and rare materials for crafting weapons.
Along the way, Lin San had already gathered countless valuable items, all of which were now stored in his spatial storage.
After what seemed like a long while, a glimmer of light appeared ahead.
"Am I finally getting out?"
As he approached the exit, Lin San became more cautious.
He tightened his grip on the Ye Fan Sword.
Given his previous encounters, Lin San wasn't about to let his guard down.
If another group of creatures like the black-armored rats appeared, it would certainly be troublesome.
He unleashed his strong sensing abilities to scan the area as he advanced.
Even so, he detected nothing unusual.
"This time, there really seems to be nothing."
Reaching the exit, Lin San sighed in relief.
"But…what's this?"
As he stepped out, the sight before him left him stunned.
A massive area lay before him.
This space was far larger than any he had encountered before.
Upon closer inspection, it looked like the ruins of an ancient city.
Around him were numerous large, strange structures.
"So there really was a city here," Lin San remarked in awe.
"Godly plants!"
Sweeping his gaze over the area, Lin San's sharp eyes caught sight of something, and his expression immediately changed.
He rushed forward in an instant.
On the ground, growing amidst the ruins, was a small plant emitting a purple glow!
This tiny plant radiated an immense, powerful light.
"Purple Spirit Grass... It's actually Purple Spirit Grass!"
Carefully digging out the plant, Lin San suppressed his excitement.
Purple Spirit Grass was an extremely rare godly plant.
It could be used to craft Lightning Avoidance Pills!
When advancing from an eight-star to a nine-star Martial God, one would face tribulation lightning.
The stronger the eight-star Martial God, the fiercer the lightning would be.
The Lightning Avoidance Pill could increase one's resistance to lightning.
After all, advancing from eight stars to nine stars was fraught with risks.
"I'm really lucky."
Lin San couldn't help but smile.
"Unfortunately, what I truly want hasn't appeared yet."
After a brief sigh, Lin San stored the precious plant and stood up.
He continued walking further into the area.
The space was lit by glowing moss, making the surroundings as bright as daylight.
As he moved forward, his eyes scanned the area.
Among the ruins, he saw numerous skeletons and scattered weapons.
At some point in the distant past, there had clearly been a great battle here.
A battle so devastating it left behind countless bones — not just human, but also from demonic beasts and creatures of the underworld.
"Hmm?"
Suddenly, Lin San noticed something, and his eyes widened in surprise.
