Chapter 434 - Chapter 434: Fireworks Talisman

Liu Yunan had already explained the dual-purpose role of spirit stones as currency and cultivation resources for cultivators earlier during the tour, and everyone had understood without issue.

After leaving the Alchemy Room, the group proceeded to visit the Weapon Refining Hall, Talisman Crafting Room, and the Array Formation Hall.

Of course, each location had been carefully prepared by Liu Yunan and Qin Jianghe in advance, with personnel stationed to perform demonstrations.

The Weapon Refining Hall, with Lin Lei and Lin Yun — both known as diligent artisans — along with Hu Liang, who was constantly motivated to keep up, showcased a variety of weapon forging techniques. Though the level of craftsmanship wasn't extremely high, the overall quality was certainly commendable. The diverse and visually engaging displays, from delicate handiwork to wild hammering, captivated the new disciples.

In the Array Formation Hall, Mo Yuanjiao, now a Golden Core cultivator, effortlessly performed intricate formation displays that left the newcomers in awe.

However, compared to the other two, the Talisman Crafting Room seemed a bit lackluster. With Liu Chun often away from the sect, the Talisman Crafting Room wasn't as active as the other departments. Only Lin Xiao's cousin, Lin Yan, who had a keen interest in talisman crafting, occasionally practiced there.

Aside from talented individuals like Lin Xiao and Sun Yigao, Lin Yan was the most capable in talisman crafting. But due to the lack of competition, Lin Yan's skills remained somewhat relaxed and still had a noticeable gap before reaching the level of a first-tier talisman master. Asking her to perform an impressive talisman display for the new disciples was simply out of the question.

Nevertheless, Liu Yunan had come prepared.

A few months ago, he had asked Liu Chun, who was out in the cultivation world, to create a few talismans that had one requirement: dazzling visual effects. They didn't need to be powerful or destructive—just eye-catching and impressive.

When Liu Chun first received this request, he was perplexed. Normally, he focused on maximizing damage output in his talismans, ensuring every ounce of spiritual energy was used efficiently, without wasting any on flashy effects. But now, he was being asked for the opposite—flashy, with no substance.

After some thought, he reversed his usual approach and managed to create several fire and water talismans, designed purely for visual flair. These talismans had no practical use except for putting on a grand display.

Eventually, Liu Chun even developed a more extravagant talisman: the Fireworks Talisman.

Its sole effect was to create a breathtaking spectacle of fireworks and glowing trees, with bursts of light and color filling the sky. However, when the sparks touched anyone, they would vanish without a trace—leaving no sensation behind.

After touring the areas dedicated to the four primary skills of cultivation, Liu Yunan led the group to the sect's spiritual fields, located on the mountain slopes, to give the new disciples a look at the various spiritual plants being cultivated.

Standing near the spiritual rice fields, he pointed to the lush crops and said with an air of mystery:

"This is our sect's spiritual rice field. Although it may look like ordinary rice paddies at first glance, the taste is something beyond what you've ever experienced... From now on, the rice you eat will come from this field. Once you've tasted it, you'll understand."

The disciples, who had initially found the field unremarkable, were now filled with curiosity and anticipation for their future meals.

After the visit to the spiritual fields, Liu Yunan briefly pointed out the sect's main hall, the Guiyuan Residence, and other important areas, giving the disciples a brief overview without lingering on details.

As for the Beast Garden, Liu Yunan had initially planned to let the new disciples tour it, believing that the protective barriers and illusion formations would keep them safe from the beasts inside. But this idea was quickly rejected by the garden's caretaker, Xiaoluan.

Instead, Xiaoluan allowed them to watch through a monitoring mirror, a new feature added after a recent upgrade to the Beast Garden. Using this mirror, the caretaker could display various areas of the garden on a large water screen outside for the disciples to observe.

And so, the new disciples marveled at the hidden wonders within the small valley, displayed on the large water screen summoned by Xiaoluan.

Lin Xiao, especially, had always ensured that every trip to the cultivation world resulted in more than just goods and money. He would bring back rare books, strange beasts, and even discarded materials with potential. Over time, this habit caught on, and other sect members began doing the same. After completing their usual business, they'd bring back anything that piqued their interest.

As a result, the number of beasts in the Beast Garden grew, and some of the creatures that had been bought cheaply turned out to evolve significantly after being nurtured in the garden over the years.

Some "ancient mythical beast eggs" purchased by Xiaoluan were handed off to Dapeach for incubation. Out of ten eggs, five would rot, and the rest would usually hatch into ordinary, low-tier beasts. Occasionally, a rare mutated beast would appear, but after inspection, Lin Xiao determined that these were merely normal beasts that had been nurtured to extremes, resulting in abnormal growth—not due to some hidden bloodline talent.

While most of the new disciples were amazed at the various beasts on display, a select few were stunned for a different reason—the sheer size of the Beast Garden itself.

Liang Zhonghuai was one such disciple.

He stared at the large space inside the water screen, which held countless beasts, then glanced at the small valley behind the screen. The two were clearly disproportionate in size.

This could only mean one thing: the Beast Garden had an internal spatial expansion far larger than its external appearance suggested!
