Chapter 465 - Chapter 465: Too Terrifying

"Heavy soul cannons?" After hearing Lin Qian's explanation, Yue Liqun was still filled with confusion, not quite understanding what a soul cannon was.

Even though he didn't fully grasp the concept, the name alone made Yue Liqun feel a sense of awe.

Similarly, the plump Fu Deqing, who was feasting on a beast's leg, shifted his attention from the food to Lin Qian. "Your Majesty, what exactly is this heavy soul cannon for?"

"Siege and killing," Lin Qian said calmly, his eyes gleaming with a smile as he looked ahead.

At that moment, in front of them, the craftsmen from the Firework Department, whom Lin Qian had quietly summoned, had arrived at the Blood Warrior army with the components of the heavy soul cannons.

The various parts of the heavy soul cannons had already been manufactured, and now they just needed to be assembled on-site.

As the cannons were being assembled, Yaonie remained vigilant, keeping a close watch on the mountain city, expecting the enemy to launch an attack to disrupt their efforts.

However, to Yaonie's surprise, the enemy within the mountain city seemed oblivious to the construction of the heavy soul cannons. Instead, their attention was entirely focused on the malfunctioning formation and the inert discs lodged in the mountain wall.

"Your Majesty, could it be that they've lost their minds?" Yaonie turned around, his voice imbued with soul power, carrying his words far back to Lin Qian.

When Lin Qian looked over, Yaonie pointed at the nearly completed ten heavy soul cannons beside him and shouted in confusion, "We're building towers right at their doorstep, and they're not even reacting—they're not even bothering to harass us!"

"They're ignorant bumpkins who've never seen a cannon before," Lin Qian responded with a laugh, "They have no idea what it means once those heavy soul cannons are fully assembled."

As Lin Qian finished speaking, the ten heavy soul cannons were successfully assembled.

Standing ten meters high, the massive bases supported enormous cannon barrels adorned with golden dragon engravings.

The bases were covered in intricate formations that pulsed with dazzling light, drawing in the surrounding spiritual energy and refining it into soul power, which was then funneled into the cannon barrels.

Even though they had never seen a soul cannon before, the terrifying aura emanating from the gathered soul power in those cannon barrels made it clear to Yue Liqun and the others that these were far more than just impressive-looking constructs.

"Could these heavy soul cannons be designed to gather spiritual energy and then unleash a powerful soul power attack?" Yue Liqun speculated, feeling the intense energy waves coming from the cannons. The oppressive aura left them in no doubt that the impending attack would be formidable.

At that moment, some of the Blackhorn Clan members within the mountain city also noticed the unusual activity on the other side. They turned their attention to the soul cannons, now fully aware of the gathering energy.

From their vantage point, all they could see were ten dark, gaping mouths of the cannon barrels aimed directly at them.

Within the dark openings of the barrels, a faint glow of soul power was intensifying, emanating a pressure so palpable that even within the fortified city, the Blackhorn troops could feel the overwhelming force building up.

"Let them witness what a soul cannon can do," Lin Qian said suddenly, giving the order to Yaonie.

Upon receiving the command, Yaonie grinned menacingly. His soul power surged forth, splitting into ten streams that poured into the bases of the cannons.

With Yaonie's soul power completing the final infusion, the formations on the cannon bases dimmed, signaling their readiness.

"Heavy soul cannons…" Yaonie looked towards the mountain city, where the Blackhorn Clan members were still confused, and his face twisted into a cruel smile. "Fire!"

As Yaonie's voice rang out, the bases of the heavy soul cannons, which had dimmed moments before, suddenly blazed with intense light. The golden dragon engravings on the cannon barrels lit up, their eyes glowing fiercely.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A deep, resonant sound echoed as beams of dazzling white light shot forth from the cannon barrels, streaking straight toward the mountain city, each beam splitting into ten as it traveled.

Boom!

Another explosion, and the beams split again, multiplying into hundreds, then thousands, of soul power rays that streaked towards the formation barrier of the mountain city.

The formation masters working to repair the city's defenses could only stare in horror as the entire sky turned white with the incoming barrage. Their faces twisted in terror as they screamed, "No, no!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A deafening series of explosions followed, causing the very ground to shake. The entire mountain city trembled violently, sending the Blackhorn Clan members within tumbling to the ground, unable to maintain their footing.

Fortunately, the craftsmanship of the Dwarven Clan had made the city's structures incredibly sturdy. Despite the intense bombardment, none of the buildings within the city collapsed.

The inhabitants, shielded by the inner layers of the city, were largely unharmed. The Blackhorn troops stationed closer to the barrier, however, were not so lucky.

While the Awakening Realm soldiers managed to withstand the shockwaves with grim faces, the Soul Sea Realm soldiers fared worse, knocked off balance and disoriented by the tremors.

As for the Void Breaking Realm soldiers, they were in even worse shape, completely dazed and unable to discern up from down, while the weaker Lifeblood Realm soldiers near the barrier were shaken to death, and those farther away were knocked unconscious, utterly incapacitated.

Lin Qian stood up, looking out at the scene before him with satisfaction. The sight before him was precisely what he had expected.

In siege mode, the heavy soul cannons' beams would continuously split, maintaining their power while creating chain explosions that made their attacks even more devastating.

Behind him, the table was a mess, the ground still trembling slightly. As for the five onlookers, they were utterly speechless, staring in horror at the city now engulfed in thick clouds of dust and debris.

War among soul warriors often began with breaking the enemy's defenses, and in that regard, the way the Hua Xia Empire fought seemed no different.

But now, they fully understood what Lin Qian meant by the Hua Xia Empire's way of waging war.

It was terrifying beyond belief!
