Meanwhile, Ashborn was ready to enter his eternal rest once and for all, but something unexpected happened.
He suddenly found himself inside the body of a human baby…

The little bit Ashborn was able to figure out about his current situation in the time he had spent inside this human baby was that he was definitely in another world, one with a different type of energy…
Well, actually, more than one type of energy, to my surprise:
One was called chakra, a form of energy that living beings in this world naturally produce to some degree. But this chakra is actually the result of the combination of two types of energy: Physical Energy and Spiritual Energy. Physical Energy comes from the cells of the physical body, while Spiritual Energy comes from the mind or soul.
And lastly, there's also some kind of natural energy, a form of energy that exists in the atmosphere and the earth of this world. This natural energy circulates throughout the world.
All of this was pretty interesting…
Anyway, I also learned the name of the human baby I was in: Shikamaru Nara.
"Hey, little Shika, I'm your godfather, Inoichi. Can you say Ino-ichi?" The man in front of me, with bright green eyes and long, ash-blonde hair, was Inoichi Yamanaka, the godfather of the baby Shikamaru, who I was currently inside.
"Inoichi, he's still a baby," teased Shikamaru's mother, Yoshino Nara.
"Huh? Oh well, you know, since he's a Nara, I thought maybe it was possible," the man joked with a slight blush as Shikamaru's mother laughed softly.
"Stop teasing, Inoichi," another man said, rolling his eyes as he picked up baby Shikamaru. This man had two scars on the right side of his face along with dark hair tied back in a spiky ponytail, dark eyes, and a goatee. He was Shikamaru's father, Shikaku Nara.
Shikaku held his baby in his arms until he finally drifted off to sleep. And when the baby slept, I found myself in complete darkness since I could only see, hear, and well, experience everything through the body I was in. Even though I could still feel everything around me on my own, it was very different from using the senses of this physical body.
On the other hand, I have to admit that even though this new and strange world certainly piqued my interest, I preferred to spend most of my time peacefully sleeping.
The funny thing was that, in fact, this human baby I was currently in wasn't very different from me. Despite his obvious innate curiosity about everything around him after being born, he also preferred to sleep most of the time. His parents even mentioned how much this baby slept, even though he was still just a baby… They had started to worry a little, but apparently, there were records of other members of this Nara clan who also slept just as much as this baby.
Another interesting thing was that it seemed like the baby and I now shared some sort of strange mental connection. But even though I could communicate with the baby's consciousness, it was pointless. After all, he was still just a human baby that hadn't fully developed yet. Talking to him was just as much a waste of time as when that man, Inoichi, tried to get Shikamaru to say his name.
Still, I communicated with him because if we were going to keep living in the same body, he would need to get used to my presence. And there was no better time to start than from his birth.
As for my situation and how I ended up in this world and in this body… Well, by now, I had stopped asking myself how exactly I ended up inside this human baby. Naturally, I had thousands of different theories, all plausible... but whatever the reason, I was here now, and that wasn't going to change.
Besides, I had more immediate concerns, like the fact that what was left of my power wasn't compatible with this body. In fact, if I tried to use my power, I would instantly kill this baby, and that wasn't something I wanted to do.
Even though now I was just a weak and fragile shadow of what I once was, retaining only a fraction of the power I had in the past, I was still incredibly powerful compared to the chakra that these human bodies have.
But there's no problem without a solution. I could combine my power with this chakra to make them coexist.
Not only that, but I could also gradually recover some of my old power by using the energies of this world to slowly increase my strength. But, of course, it wasn't that simple. Naturally, if I did that now, while inside the body of this baby, he'd die instantly.
So, I still had the same problem...
To do anything, I'd first need Shikamaru to raise his chakra levels to a sufficiently high degree so that I could use my power to extract his chakra and successfully combine it with my power without causing any harm to this physical body.
But, as I said before, even though my current power is just a weak shadow of what it used to be, it's still far superior to this chakra. So, I'd need vast amounts of chakra—far more than I believed Shikamaru could ever produce, based on what I'd seen from his father and the other humans I had come into direct contact with so far.
None of them, despite being fully grown adults, had chakra reserves that met the requirements I needed.
So, maybe this baby would never meet those requirements in his entire life…
Wait a second!
I didn't actually need to wait for this body to have such massive chakra reserves.
I could simply divide my power into several parts and gradually combine those parts with whatever amount of chakra this body could produce.
Yes! That's actually a brilliant and perfect idea for this situation.
I would slowly extract the total amount of chakra produced by this body and gradually combine it with portions of my power. That way, I could at least use some of my power whenever I wanted without causing harm to this body. And this whole process would even help this physical body to constantly increase its chakra reserves. By constantly draining what it produces, I would be forcing both the body and the mind to adapt and get stronger, gradually increasing their ability to generate, store, and control more energy.
It would be beneficial for both me and this Shikamaru. The only real downside would be that this physical body would always feel tired from having its reserves constantly drained, but it was necessary...
