Mama
That happened three days ago. Fortunately, he was just drugged to sleep and the man responsible was caught. He confessed that someone had paid him to 'scare' Kaisen while a hidden camera was confiscated from where the man took stolen photos of them, dining at the restaurant.
All is well that ends well however not for Kael. Because for the past three days, he can't go anywhere without men tailing him behind. It wasn't so tough at all, it was just Kael doesn't like when all of his movements were watched.
This was sir dad's idea so he really can't say no to it. He wanted to talk about it with Zenon but he has been missing in action, didn't even bother drinking his coffee during breakfast and just went off to work.
The first day, he was advised to stay home, even Zenon's father called to the mansion to check on him. The second day, he was allowed to go out with no less than four guards with him. Kael spent the whole day with Leon and the guys on the track. On the third day, the guys were busy, so as Leon, so he couldn't meet with them and stayed at home.
And today is the fourth day.
"Come on~ Just one game," Kael was coaxing his guards into playing chess with him.
The guards glanced at each other, then the three of them simultaneously looked at the guard in charge, Eric. He sighed in defeat, "We can't, sir. It's not like we don't want to join you but we're not allowed to drink during work."
That's because instead of chess pieces, Kael wanted to use the shot glasses he found in the kitchen. Marta mentioned that Acosta really likes collecting stuff and Zenon likes to collect shot glasses with intricate designs on them. And some of them are shot glasses with chess pieces printed on them. He's gonna borrow some because he's bored to death.
"It's not like one game will get you drunk. And I told you to call me Kael or Kaisen whatever!"
For the second time, they glanced at each other. Well, Sir Zeke had instructed them to take care of the omega, he was the father of Zenon. Plus, they can see how bored the omega had gone the past three days.
"Then… just one game," Eric finally surrendered.
"One game each, yes! I'll prepare the board," Kael cheered then left hurriedly leaving the guards without the chance to speak up.
That wasn't the deal at all but the guys just shrugged and expected that they'll be jobless after this.
When they followed Kael to the kitchen, Kael had already finished his preparations. On top of a chessboard were shot glasses filled with alcoholic drinks. On one side, most are filled with clear liquid while the pieces that are printed to be the rook, bishop, horse, king, and queen are in different colors. On the other side were filled with a dark brown liquid except the said pieces.
"Let's be clear with rules a'right? When your piece will get captured, you must drink it 'bottoms-up'," Kael explained. "Since I'm feeling generous now, I'll send a good word to sir dad for your raise, that is if… you'll beat me just once."
Kael was feeling confident and excited, well he just really wanted to drink but where's the fun with drinking by himself? So, he had to think of an idea to have his guards join him.
"Is this really okay?" A guard hesitated.
"Will you be okay, sir?" Kael squinted his eyes on him. The guard looked away, "Will you be okay, S-uhm… Kael?"
Kael leaned on the table, his hands on it supporting him. He's grinning from ear to ear, "Oh worry about yourselves, fellas. 'Cause this sir will bring you all down."
"Thought it's just Kael… or Kaisen?" The youngest of them interrupted.
"Oh come on!"
Shortly after that they started deciding who'd play first. Vince, the bulkiest of them went first and mercilessly defeated by Kael, drank all shots after a few minutes into the game. But his defeat was immediately withdrawn by Lance, the youngest. However, Kael is known for his stubbornness.
There's no way they'll end the game after two rounds so he proposed another deal. And so, the game continued. With the tension of these gentlemen increasing, the price at stake is definitely worth every round of the game.
"Checkmate!" Kael shouted as he banged his hand on the table. Eric groaned in defeat as he poured the shot down his throat.
After hours of playing, they lost count of how many rounds they played. Kael had already made countless deals with them as he kept on losing. He is starting to give up on going through his plans for the day. That's right. Kael was planning behind their backs. Its operation 'lose the guards for the day'.
Kael runs his gaze among them and they're all flushed by all the alcohol they take in. Tairon contacted him to check on him the other day. However, he still has no clue of Kaisen's whereabouts. And there's no way Kael would just chill at home just because someone is out there to kill him, his twin rather.
That jerk in the restroom just caught him off guard. Sir dad had already told him that the guy was caught by three and Zenon and Leon brought him to the hospital. Good thing, he was just knocked out by some sleeping drug that he inhaled and was discharged during the night.
Next time, he'll definitely catch whoever those bastards are.
"Stop, stop! I'm not playing anymore!" Kael finally declared when he lost again.
Lance stretched his fist up over his head, he won again, he thought before he passed out, falling off the chair to the ground. Snores came after.
Everyone groaned as they settled on the ground. They are so 'losing their job after this'. Even Kael knocked himself on the table making the shot glasses clinked. He's not expecting for them to last long.
He didn't notice but he slept for a short time. Kael woke up as he felt his neck cramping, good thing he wasn't feeling light-headed anymore.
Kael rose his head and roamed his eyes around. Seeing that the guards had successfully snored, Kael slowly rose from his seat, careful not to make any sound. He cheered when he capably left the kitchen without waking any guards but his joy was cut short. He was about to reach the main entrance when he ran into a maid, Laian.
Laian bowed to show respect before she asked, "Is it alright for you to go out alone, sir?"
Kael stopped on his tracks while cursing under his breath. He flashed a smile to Laian as he was thinking of what excuse he will tell this time. During his stay, Kael noticed how incredibly loyal Laian is to the family. Not just her but the other servants as well.
"I… I was craving some… convenience store food. Yes, that's right! Is there any nearest convenience store in the area?"
Laian was thinking for a bit. "Hmm, convenience stores are a bit far from here. What would you like to have, sir? I'll run the errand for y一"
"NO!"
Kael dismissed the idea even before Laian had finished her words. Seeing how startled Laian was, Kael realized he sounded aggressive just now. He definitely looked suspicious. Kael cleared his throat.
"I mean, no," he said, this time in a soft manner. "I have not yet decided on what I want so I should go personally."
"But Sir Zenon一"
"Aish! He had abandoned me to be bored in this house. Can you let me off just this once? Nothing will happen I promise. You can come if you want," Kael implored.
Laian was obviously hesitating. "Is Mr. Eric not coming with you?"
"Uhh… they're kinda bummed out," which was the plan for him to venture out freely. Kael avoided eye contact. "Come on, hmm? It will be as quick as lightning."
Kael was silently rejoicing as he watched the view unfold outside the car. Jake was driving while Laian was sitting beside him and Kael was on the backseat. When they arrived at a convenience store, Laian followed behind him while Jake was told to stay in the car. Kael picked random stuff and put them in his shopping basket.
When it's time to pay, Kael excused himself to use the toilet and left Laian with his card which Laian took with hesitation. She even followed his eyes to Kael when he walked away towards the toilet the cashier told them.
The restroom was empty and alas, there is a window that could fit a single person. It wasn't hard for Kael to go through the window with his small physique. He ran away as soon as his feet touched the ground without looking back.
Kael was laughing to himself as he pictured Zenon's pissed face. 'You can't imprison me for long,' he thought as he dashed through a tight alley to avoid the parking lot where Jake was waiting in the car, and went to a place where there was a crowd of people to hide himself just in case.
"Cocoa pretzels! Cocoa pretzels are available for the day! Come, come! Have a taste of our cocoa pretzels!"
Pretzel?
Kael's ears twitched and like lightning, he flashed in front of the vendor shop. "Can I have five orders please?"
The lady vendor was more than pleased as she prepared it for Kael. "Five cocoa pretzels comin' right up!"
Kael was about to take the pretzels from the lady when a small figure suddenly bumped into his legs, and fell to his butt.
'Who一' he bended and was about to help the child up when the kid unexpectedly hugged his leg.
"M-mama, mama, mama," the child cried as he let out a deafening wail.
Kael's eyes widened in shock. 'Who's child is this? If his memories served him right, he had never slept with an alpha before let alone got pregnant and had a child.'
