"This is insane… this is absolutely insane! I don't care how quickly you've mastered the Kaio-Ken, you won't be able to do this!" King Kai shouted, floating in the air far above the surface of his planet, "I don't care if you're an unprecedented genius at this type of stuff - it's just not possible!"
Currently, Gray was in his massive Ozaru form as he floated across from the Kai, his eyes closed in concentration. After only a few days of practice, he had managed to adapt pretty well to the Kaio-Ken x3, and could at least fight decently with the Kaio-Ken x4. Now, it was time for the real difficult part of utilizing the Kaio-Ken.
Doing it as an Ozaru.
"Your body is way bigger! Even if you have more Ki and overall power, that'll only be detrimental!" King Kai continued with a huff, his eyes boring into Gray's large head, "That's way more power to move through you, and you're not used to this body! You have a better understanding of your own body than anyone I've ever trained, but this is different! You've lived an entire lifetime in that form, but this is one you've barely accessed! It's like telling a toddler to sprint before they can walk- no, it's more like telling a toddler to use the Kaio-Ken!"
He's right. No one's ever done this before. I don't even know if it's possible.
In the Dragon Ball world, Goku had been the only one to ever master the Kaio-Ken, as even King Kai was only somewhat competent with the base Kaio-Ken technique. He had never reached the Kaio-Ken x3, and the only person who had, Goku, had never tried using even the base technique with the Ozaru transformation.
But he's also wrong. I haven't lived a lifetime in my normal body.
Gray hadn't been in this world for even a year at this point, much less a lifetime. Beyond that, his body was far different from the one he'd first appeared in months ago, as he'd evolved numerous times since then.
If anyone could figure it out, it's me.
Not because Gray thought he was particularly talented, though considering how quickly he'd adapted to fighting in this world he definitely was, but instead because of his system.
I have the [Kaio-Ken] skill. I should just will it to activate, and it'll either work, or it won't. If it doesn't, then I might need to change my plans a bit, but I'll find out before I start thinking that way.
Gray breathed in, his body tensing as he willed his Ki to start flowing through him. He copied the normal steps he did to use the Kaio-Ken, willing the skill to activate. Then, he breathed out, his eyes snapping open.
"KAIO-KEN!"
As the words left his mouth, the air around him grew thick with power. His Ki shot upward as the massive heart in his Ozaru's chest started to pound quicker, banging into his ears like a never-ending drum. His veins became flooded with deep, burning hot Ki, and his hair-covered muscles bulged outward. His body became stiff as his power level skyrocketed, and Gray grimaced as he shifted in the air slightly, feeling different from when he utilized the Kaio-Ken in his normal form.
"H-How…" King Kai watched with wide eyes as Gray roared, a flare of red Ki bursting upward around him, and he stumbled backward mid-air.
Gray just grinned widely as the air around him shook, his power bursting out so heavily that even King Kai's planet far below them started to shake as if there were an earthquake ravaging the planet.
This is what I'm fuckin' talking about!
Gray felt more powerful than he ever had before - the combination of his training, his Ozaru form, and the Kaio-Ken, feeling like he'd had cocaine injected directly into his veins as his body shook lightly. In that moment, Gray felt like he could fight even Frieza himself, much less Boros.
But let's not get hasty here. The goal isn't to just try and match Boros-
Gray's teeth bared as his eyes narrowed, unintentionally causing King Kai to take a fearful step back as he stared him down.
I'm going to fuckin' destroy him. I'm going to humiliate him.
"Y-You… what the hell are you?" King Kai stuttered, staring at Gray with wide eyes. Gray's grin just grew bigger in response.
What was it they kept calling me on Earth?
"A monster."

"How many times do I have to tell you to quit sitting on that?! Do you know how expensive that was?!" King Kai huffed, waving his hands frantically around a figure sitting on the hood of his car, "Well, it was free, but it was hard as hell to get it over here! I can't just go to Earth whenever I want to get another one! Well, actually, I just made it myself and didn't go to Earth… b-but don't sit on it anyway!"
"If you want me to move, then make me," The figure responded simply, waving his hand dismissively at King Kai's words.
"What's your deal anyway?" Gray asked, glancing over with a raised eyebrow as Garou sat on the hood of the Kai's car, simply watching the training taking place around the planet boredly.
"Huh?" Garou responded, narrowing his eyes at Gray slightly, "Why are you asking? You got a problem with me?"
"No, I'm just curious," Gray didn't fall for the bait, just standing firm as he looked down at Garou's sitting form, "Though if you're looking for a fight, I'll gladly comply. If you could keep up with Saitama, then you'll at least give me a decent spar, right?"
Seventeen days of training had passed on King Kai's planet, and Garou had done nothing but watch the training and argue with Silver Fang for the entirety of that time. Gray was glad the man wasn't causing any problems despite being 'kind of an enemy' in Saitama's words, but he also wouldn't have complained if the man wanted to fight.
My body's growing a ton from fighting with Saitama, but I need to keep my fighting skills sharp.
To say Gray was making insane progress from training with the bald hero was putting it lightly, but Gray needed more than just raw power.
I'll get a ton of that when I eat another fruit, but I need the skills to keep up with Boros as well. I don't know how much pure power he really has, so fighting ability might be the difference maker.
Gray still had the Fruits of the Tree of Might tucked away in his sheath, but he had yet to try eating another one. He didn't know the exact time frame that needed to pass for his body to not be internally injured by the fruit, and he didn't want to risk relying on another [Enhanced Senzu Bean] and just hoping it would save him. It had come in clutch during his eating of the first one, but that was the first one, which should've been completely safe to eat. With one that was supposed to kill him, he didn't know if the Senzu Bean could protect him.
As a result, he had asked King Kai what he thought about the fruit, as he figured a Kai would have a better idea about it than he would. Unfortunately, upon seeing the fruit, King Kai had promptly warned him to 'never eat it.'
Obviously I'm eating that shit, but I won't be greedy.
That was a first for Gray, who was a rather greedy Saiyan, but in this situation, there was no need to be overly greedy. He would eat another fruit before they headed back to Monas, but he wouldn't try to squeeze multiple into the not-even-month of training.
By the time we head back, I'll be twice as strong as before, plus the 10x boost from the fruit, plus the 10x boost from the Ozaru, plus the 10x boost from the Kaio-Ken. There's no need to be greedy and go overboard trying to eat another fruit.
Gray hadn't quite managed to reach the 10x form of the Kaio-Ken, as he was still working on mastering the Kaio-Ken x4 during his spars with Saitama, but he was confident he could get there before they returned to Monas. And, as far as Gray was concerned, if Boros could still beat him after all those power-ups, then he was never beating the alien anyway.
My power level will be at, what, a quadrillion? If he's still kicking my ass, then just fuck me, I'll go die and spend forever training here again.
"I don't spar anymore. I fight," Garou countered, his lips twitching up a bit as he narrowed his eyes at Gray, "If I kill you, then that bald moron will have no choice but to fight me, right?"
That's what I like to hear!
"Kill me? Don't overrate yourself," Gray just grinned back, his body starting to grow a bit excited as Garou slide off the hood of the car, standing in front of Gray as he looked up into his eyes, "I'll be satisfied if you don't get your ass handed to you."
I doubt he'll go down easy, but if this is what it'll take to goad him into a fight, then I'll be cocky as hell.
In reality, Gray still couldn't see Garou's stats, and he knew the man wouldn't be an easy fight if he was keeping up with Saitama - even if, in Saitama's words, the man was just 'really good at dodging.'
He's skilled in fighting, and he abused that to fight with Saitama even if he couldn't keep up physically. He's where I'm at right now, but stronger.
Essentially, he was a perfect sparring partner for Gray.
The gains I'm getting from Saitama are starting to diminish a bit.
As Gray continued to grow stronger and progress in his Kaio-Ken training, the gap between him and Saitama was slowly closing. As a result, the man's punches hurt less, he was easier to keep up with, and Gray was getting less END and AGI through their spars. He was still an ideal sparring partner for gaining straight physical progress, but for overall fighting-
It's this guy.
"Do you want to get your ass kicked real quick, or are you going to just keep sitting there watching us train?" Gray smirked, staring down at Garou as he towered over the shorter man, "I've been wondering why you just keep watching. Perhaps it's because you're scared?"
"Scared?" Garou just narrowed his eyes, huffing as he stepped past Gray, casually walking to an open area on King Kai's planet, "Fine. I'll fight you."
Good. I've been wanting to see what this guy's really made of for a while.
Gray's smirk twitched up into a grin as Garou stretched out his arm casually, rotating it in a circle as he prepared to fight. He finally turned around, shifting into a fighting stance as he stood across from Gray.
"Don't disappoint me, okay?" Gray hummed, shifting into his own fighting stance as his adrenaline started to pump. His body tensed, his eyes widening as he willed [Kaio-Ken] to activate, and a flare of red Ki flung up around him.
"J-Just make sure you don't damage my house or my car again, okay?!" King Kai shouted as he scurried out of the way, not wanting to be caught in the ensuing battle.
Neither fighter moved for a moment, just staring each other down. Then, Garou's hand twitched ever so slightly, and both men moved. In the blink of an eye, both bodies blurred as they lunged forward.
Gray grinned, his eyes boring into Garou's annoyed ones as they reappeared mere feet away.
In an instant, the fight between the Ultimate Saiyan and the Ultimate Monster began.
