"Dad, don't be so sad. The ninja world might descend into chaos. Only by becoming stronger will you have the ability to protect yourself in critical moments!"
Genya looked at his father's pitiful expression and felt a twinge of sympathy, but he had to remind him—his father really needed to train.
In this harsh ninja world, strength was the foundation of survival.
Especially since his father was the head of the Merchant Association, which would attract the envy of others. If someone tried to assassinate him, he needed the time to react.
After all, the upcoming Chunin Exams would be the most chaotic time in Konoha.
Only by making his father strong enough could he ensure his safety during the storms to come, and finally have peace of mind.
"You're treating your dad like a donkey!" Uchiha Kinya still protested angrily. "During the day, I have to handle the association's affairs, and whenever I have free time, I'm forced to train with Uncle Shin. I don't even have any freedom!"
"And the meals I want to eat are cut off by that heartless Uchiha Shin because of training."
The more he spoke, the more aggrieved he felt.
For such a large clan head to end up so pitiful that he nearly wanted to cry was almost laughable.
Genya was a little speechless, but he patiently comforted him: "Dad, you have to understand, the hardships now are for the sweetness later. How about this—every seven days, I'll have Uncle Shin make your favorite meal for you?"
Satisfying his father's appetite a little was his final bottom line.
As for the hard work?
Hikari prepared medicinal liquids for him every day, so even with endless, sleepless training, he wouldn't collapse from exhaustion.
Uchiha Kinya felt his resentment ease slightly after hearing Genya. In the end, he could only say reluctantly:
"Alright, I'll endure a bit longer. But don't forget what you promised. Once I become a Jonin, you can't keep forcing me to train!"
Genya smiled and nodded: "No problem. Dad, work hard in your training!"
And so, with Genya's encouragement and persuasion, Uchiha Kinya, though unwilling, finally agreed.
Genya then led his father and Uchiha Shin back to their room. Next, they needed to discuss plans for the Chunin Exams.
Some actions also required informing his father.
What came next involved Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Konoha leadership. No one knew if Sarutobi might act rashly and directly target the Uchiha Clan.
So I need to prepare my father early!
"Are we going to make a move against the Sarutobi clan?" Uchiha Kinya's expression darkened as he looked at Genya seriously. "What should we do?"
"Just continue doing what you're supposed to do," Genya replied. "If nothing unexpected happens, we won't need to involve the Uchiha clan this time."
He shook his head, then added, "But during the Chunin Exams, make sure the clan stays alert. Don't let anything slip."
Some things, whether it was him—or even Orochimaru—had already planned. If all went as expected, Genya himself wouldn't need to intervene directly; he could simply watch as an outsider.
Of course,
If something unexpected happened, he would act.
Also, after toppling the Sarutobi clan this time, he planned to support his father in becoming Hokage.
"I understand. We'll stay vigilant!" Uchiha Kinya nodded, his expression extremely serious. "I know you're strong, Shin, but Hiruzen Sarutobi has been Hokage for so many years for a reason. Be careful with everything!"
Uchiha Kinya knew he might not be able to help his son directly, so he could only support him silently.
Genya nodded. "I understand."
It seemed his father still didn't truly grasp his strength. Even if the Ten-Tails appeared now, he wouldn't be afraid.
As for the Sage of Six Paths wanting to fight him, that would require careful consideration.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Izumi was diligently following Genya's orders, contacting the families of the missing. Tomorrow, she would bring those willing to issue missions to the mission hall.
Hokage's office…
Night had fallen, yet the lights inside the office were off. Still, faint glimmers of light flickered within.
Dimly, one could see someone smoking.
"Why aren't you off work yet?" At that moment, Danzo pushed open the door, his tone teasing. "What's troubling our esteemed Hokage so much?"
"Hmph!" Hiruzen Sarutobi snorted coldly, glancing at Danzo. "It's about the Uchiha clan. Their power is growing stronger, and it seems they're investigating the missing people in Konoha. Don't pretend you don't know."
Hiruzen's cold snort carried a hint of displeasure as he looked at Danzo.
Danzo's actions had been too conspicuous, attracting the Uchiha Police Force's attention. If he hadn't secretly suppressed the matter, it could have been very troublesome.
Moreover,
This situation might not stay suppressed for long.
"Oh? You mean this matter? I know about it," Danzo said, nodding without hiding anything.
Hiruzen Sarutobi was furious as he looked at Danzo. "Didn't I warn you? If you want to experiment, why do you have to involve people from the village?"
Danzo Shimura was utterly reckless. If he didn't have some use left for this man, he would have killed him long ago.
"What I need now is someone from the Senju clan. Are there any outside?" Danzo sneered as he spoke to Hiruzen, word by word.
"Someone from the Senju clan?" Hiruzen was stunned. He couldn't help but ask, "Why do you need someone from the Senju clan?"
"We discovered a special phenomenon while researching Edo Tensei," Danzo said. He paused, piquing Hiruzen's curiosity before continuing.
"If someone is resurrected into a stranger's body, their power weakens significantly. But if they are resurrected into a body of someone they are related to, their power can almost fully return to what it was when they are alive."
Hiruzen was truly shocked. "There's such a thing?"
"Both of us, the previous Hokage, are from the Senju clan. Don't you think we should find someone closely related and have them be resurrected, so that we regain our original power?"
Danzo threw the question to Hiruzen, knowing he was smart enough to figure out what to do.
After taking a few more drags of his cigarette, Hiruzen made his decision. "For the sake of Konoha, the Senju clan will have to endure this hardship." He then reminded Danzo again, "Keep it quiet."
At this point, Hiruzen had abandoned the Senju clan.
Night fell, and Konoha was shrouded in silence, though beneath the quiet, waves of tension stirred.
The next day,
Outside the Uchiha Hospital, Shino Aburame was already waiting.
He hadn't slept at all the night before. He had been thinking about how far Genya had evolved his insects, wondering if he had really become that strong.
No, even if he was only a little stronger, it would be enough.
He could always follow in Genya's footsteps.
