Chapter 415 - Chapter 415

The monstrous demon raised his large sword again, and dread hit every human in the capital — how would they survive another hit? Even non-mages could see the violet winds and the black lightning that tore through the air around the demon just from him lifting his arm.

"AIR GOD SPELL: WIND APOST—" Jacob couldn't finish his most powerful spell before a blinding gold covered the whole capital in a flash.

"Fuck," the nature apostle whispered to himself, closing his eyes as he realized what happened.

After the gold flash slowly faded away, everyone looked back up at the demon, where now a massive gold knight with a gold crown on his helmet blocked the demon's sword with his giant gold greatsword made of dense golden aura.

Immediately after, thousands of gigantic blue energy balls fell down on each of the flowers — the same flowers that survived numerous powerful attacks and still stood tall, harvesting demonic energy.

But this time…

SPLIT BOOOOOOOOOOOOM

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

A very loud ringing noise hit everyone's ears as pillars of blue covered the whole flowers from the ground all the way, breaking through the dark clouds. Every flower except the one at the very center of the capital was erased from existence.

The Grand Magus of Cendrial stood tall on top of his magic tower with hundreds of six-star mages inside the tower channeling their mana into the Grand Magus.

"Good job, young man. You fought bravely…" Jacob turned in his massive spirit behemoth, and behind him two seven-foot knights covered their heads in helmets that shined brightly with runes engraved by the greatest dwarves alive.

"You can leave it to us…" They took one step and immediately reappeared a hundred meters from the portal, their bodies floating in the air before suddenly a wave of air spread through the capital as two enormous giants of dense aura appeared behind the King.

"If the dukes are here, then…" Jacob recognized the two strongest knights in the kingdom after the king, and he knew if the dukes were here then…

"How could you let the capital fall to such a state, old friend?" Next to the Grand Magus, a mature woman in her forties floated, her black hair flowing behind her, and her age didn't affect her beauty whatsoever. Before her, ten books of various colors opened up, and huge twenty-meter-wide magic circles appeared above her.

A giant pillar of white fire exploded from the Cathedral of the True Flame as the bishops and their gifted priests of the True Flames readied to use their miracles against the demons, who were weak against the powers of the True Flame.

"Teacher… WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU?" The king struggled to hold the sword of the demon, and his emotions hit him hard when he saw the demon's face.

Because…

SMILE

The demon smiled and—SPLIT BOOOOOOOOOOM

The demon's sword sliced through the king's greatsword — the unthinkable happened before everyone's eyes, and the king was turned into a gold missile, smashing into the capital and creating a massive crater with his body.

"He cut his aura…" The Grand Magus's eyes sharpened, and his expression darkened.

"DO NOT ENGAGE IN CLOSE COMBAT!! HE WAS THE HERO OF HUMANITY—THE GREATEST SWORDSMAN TO WALK THE CONTINENT!" The Grand Magus used his magic to spread his voice all over and inform everyone who was too young to know who the demon was.

"It's time for you to join the fun, no? Or do you find my jokes that entertaining?" On the edge of the capital, on the balcony of a luxurious mansion, four men with clown masks were playing cards with each other on a small table.

Before them was the Apostle of the Lightning Guild. She stood there with her white hair flowing over her runic armor, her eyes never leaving the men playing cards.

"Why did you accelerate the end? Why did you help them open the gate? I thought we had a deal…" she asked.

"No, no, no, you are mistaken, Thor's daughter. Our deal was for dear Mateo to bring me his head." One of the men spoke, and then all of them turned to look at her, their masks moving to form a smile.

"He failed, in an entertaining fashion… but nonetheless, he failed… and so I had to find fun elsewhere…" he said before looking back at his cards.

"You keep playing these games, Joker…" She turned, ready to fly away. "Let's see you hide behind your cards when he finds out. I will be there to enjoy the entertainment," she said and flashed in a blue thunder.

HEHEHEHEHE

The Jokers all laughed in unison, one card in each of their hands.

One Joker showed his card, and it was a red flower.

One Joker showed his card, and it was a wild monster ripping through bodies.

One Joker showed his card, and it was a child holding up a toy robot.

Then all the Jokers fused with the last Joker who remained seated and smiled under his mask, looking at the card in his hand.

He let the card fall from his gloved hand and disappeared from his seat before the card hit the table.

The Demon Generals, followed by thousands of demons, attacked the small army of players — Atreus and Jacob leading the defense while the strongest the kingdom had to offer were holding back the Demon Hero.

The fight was going the demon's way, and to make matters worse for the players on the kingdom's side, a giant raven once again dove from the clouds, ready to unleash another brain-shaking attack, turning them vulnerable to the powerful demons in a situation where half a second of paralysis meant death.

SPARK

In a split second, a thin white spark cut through the raven's massive body. The beast couldn't even react as the white spark turned into a thunder strike from above it, burning the massive raven into ash immediately.

The players looked behind and smiled as the Apostle of the Lightning Guild pulled back her giant lightning bow and aimed upwards to unleash a giant lightning arrow that flew into the dark clouds, and white lightning spread through the clouds before…

ZZZZZ BOOOM

ZZZZ BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOM

Hundreds of lightning strikes fell on the demon army, demolishing their numbers instantly…

"You're with me." A low voice came from behind her. The Apostle of the Lightning Guild turned to see the Apostle of the Beast Guild directly behind her, her body already transforming into dozens of crows that themselves were gruesomely bloating, ready to explode…

BOOOOOOOOOOM

A massive explosion of black spread through the air, but white lightning on a roof nearby transformed into a gorgeous woman with lightning crackling around her.

Thousands of crows from all over the capital headed for her…

The war had just started, and armies of demons were waiting for more portals to open while armies of humans marched for the capital — the Grand Magus's signal reaching every noble and person of power.

This wasn't a mere nobles' fighting — no, this was a fight for survival. If the capital falls, then it's over for the kingdom. They must support the kingdom at any cost, the most powerful relics each noble house hid in their treasury on the way to aiding the fight against the demons.

Meanwhile, south of the capital…

Ali was watching Katarin announce her support of Ali's claim of IronPeak. Hundreds of thousands stood there listening to her. Ali looked to the side where the heads of each knight house were kneeling anxiously, waiting for him to say something.

"Go and follow your orders. I expect your knights to have the city in order by sunset," Ali said, and the knights accepted their orders before going to command their houses.

With his Force Sense, Ali felt the gate near the slums, where thousands of demi-humans walked out of the city — but not before throwing a rock at the mother and child strapped naked to wooden poles near the gate.

They were already dead from being stoned for more than an hour, and yet every demi-human still threw a rock at the Viscount's family — their last act of revenge before leaving the city and following the demi-human warriors to a better life in a town full of demi-humans and no humans around too.

Once the people of IronPeak heard Katarin and Ali's speeches, they left for their homes, but Katarin saw this as her window to rush to Ali. Fiona hid among her entourage and took peeks at her little sister, who had grown into a powerful paladin.

"I have fulfilled my end of the deal. Now where is the demon!" she shouted, and everybody who heard her say "demon" froze.

"Are you prepared?" Ali asked, not caring for Katarin being so close. He didn't see her as a threat whatsoever.

"Yes, my priests are ready," she said, her hand on her sword.

"Then go wait with them. I'll have the demon drop at your feet outside the church," Ali said, looking Katarin in the eyes. She stared back before turning around and running to the church.

"Ali, what demon?" Fiona asked.

"A demon was hiding in the city as a priest of the True Flame. He preyed on children and bided his time gathering demonic energy to open a portal. I'm sure he's close now, with all the death in the city," Ali said casually, taking out a ration bar and eating it.

"How are you so calm about this? Ali, you know what would happen if the demon opened a portal, right?" Fiona grabbed his arm and said, looking into his eyes — her calm gone and panic set in. The smart woman thought Ali had a volatile side to him, and him opening a gate just to see what would happen wasn't out of the realm of possibility.

"Come on, Fiona. I didn't keep you and your daughter with me all this time just to open a portal to hell next to you," Ali said, brushing her brown hair back behind her ear. He was enjoying the view of a gorgeous woman. 'Much better than the corpses of men and the ugliness of vampires and demons…' Ali thought before taking one step back, and a black portal took him away.

Ali walked out silently in a dark basement. He looked around and saw a horrifying half-human, half-demon standing before a torch whose fire was thick with demonic energy.

The demon had no idea Ali was behind him. Ali stepped forward casually and walked all the way behind the demon, who had absolutely no idea Ali was there.

'What's up with the muscles…' Ali thought, looking at the overgrown muscles that tore through the human skin and ate up some of the demonic energy.

'What to do…' Ali thought as he struggled to pick which weapon or attack to use.

'Can never go wrong with a good old punch.' Ali decided, smirking as he reared his shoulder back, and his thick black aura covered his arm before red lightning coursed over his arm in quick arcs.

The demon didn't sense anything; his sharp instincts didn't warn him of anything. This was arguably Ali's most overpowered skill — his stealth was simply unmatched…

The demon's eyes widened when a black portal opened between him and the torch, then his whole world whistled as something smashed into his back.

Ali punched straight into the demon's muscular back and sent him crashing into the portal.

Outside the church, the clergy had prepared a barrier with torches arranged in a square, and Katarin stood ready with her knights, their miracles ready to be used against the demon.

SQUASH

A large demon fell down at the center of the barrier from a black portal, but the followers of the True Flame were shocked and didn't move as they didn't see a powerful, horrifying demon — no, what they saw was a gruesome, monstrous creation that had a horrible hole in its back that blew its front to bits, pieces of gore all over the barrier.

But the demon wasn't dead, as its body started slowly gathering together…

"Burn it," Katarin said, and the priests all started praying to the torches, whose flames grew in height, and the barrier of flames around the demon collapsed on it, creating a pillar of white flames.

KAAAAAA NOOOOOOOOOOO IT BUUUUUUURNS

The demon screamed, but its cries only lasted half a minute before it was burned to ashes, the True Flame burning its very soul.

Ali stood in the basement and sensed everything through his Force Sense. The massive torch before him stopped gathering demonic energy without the demon's control, but it still stored the demonic energy it had gathered. Ali saw it all with his silvery draconic eyes.

Ali stepped through another portal and found himself standing on the stage where the auction was set — the aftermath of his attack on the auction all over.

"Don't move," Ali heard the words from behind him.

A very sharp point stabbed him in the back, just enough to draw blood from a flesh wound — nothing serious.

"You're the last demon in the city. The other one was just burned to death by a paladin of the True Flame," Ali said, not caring for the sharp point still in his back.

"And you will die too if you don't hand over the mana. You give it to me and help me escape the city, then I will give you the cure," this time Ali could hear the feminine voice very well.

"Cure for what?" Ali asked, still not turning back.

"A succubus's venom," she said, and Ali felt a weird taste in his mouth. 'An aphrodisiac — and I thought it was something serious. That's funny…' Ali thought.

Back in the capital, on the table….

The card flipped over from the winds of an attack and flew in the air revealing what it was…

A Dragon burning it's rider to death.
