Chapter 416 - Chapter 416: Killing Danzo

At this moment, Root ninjas came rushing from all directions, determined to pierce their enemy with their swords until they were full of holes.

Tōshirō glanced coldly, a red light flashing. Behind him, a surge of black chakra erupted, forming a humanoid figure, solidifying into substance. With a flick of his hand, he swatted these small fry away as if they were flies.

A group of Root ninjas fell, and another group approached. This time, however, no effort from Tōshirō was needed—someone automatically blocked their path. In the darkness, eyes glowing crimson radiated a chilling aura.

"You won't be disturbing Tōshirō…"

The man at the front had a poker face, his gaze fierce like a demon—he was none other than Fugaku, known as the "Fearsome Eye."

Fugaku was renowned within the village. Even if some Root ninjas didn't know him personally, they recognized his Sharingan and the line of people behind him also possessing Sharingan eyes.

"You are members of the Uchiha clan. What are you doing?"

"Doing what?"

Inariho had long been irritated by these guys and grinned back: "You're asking me what I'm doing?"

Under their masks, the Root members were drenched in cold sweat.

Rebellion… rebellion.

The Uchiha had turned on their master…

Soon, the two groups clashed. The Root ninjas were by no means weak overall, but it depended on who they were up against. The Uchiha were simply a tier above in overall quality, and with Fugaku leading the charge, they crushed the Root members like withering trees.

The remaining Root members, realizing the battle was unwinnable, began to retreat, intending to seek reinforcements from the Hokage. But just as they tried to leave, a wall of fire erupted from the ground. The instant it touched them, their bodies ignited, and they screamed in unbearable agony.

The Uchiha Flame Formation.

Mumak was ravaged by the fire of souls. Triggering a summoning-based protective mechanism, he turned into a puff of white smoke and disappeared with the wind.

Tōshirō grabbed Danzo with his Susanoo hands and held him in front of him. Seeing Danzo's pitiful and defeated state, he couldn't help but let out a self-satisfied smile.

Danzo, powerless to reverse the situation, glared at Tōshirō with pure hatred.

At this moment, someone slowly walked up behind Tōshirō, with black hair, red eyes, and delicate features.

Uchiha Itachi?

Two Uchiha Itachis? The one from earlier…

Danzo's eyes widened, his neck stiffened, gears turning slowly as he looked at the Itachi who had just fought him.

That Itachi exhaled sharply, and with a pop, white smoke poured from his body, transforming into a middle-aged man with black hair and pale eyes.

"Hyuga Hizashi!?"

Danzo's expression went beyond shock. After a moment, he angrily shouted, "You've betrayed the village."

He understood what had happened. Disguised as Uchiha Itachi, Hyuga Hizashi had sealed Danzo's chakra points with pressure point strikes, preventing him from using chakra—and therefore unable to employ Izanagi.

Under normal circumstances, Danzo might have reacted, but being busy fighting Tōshirō, he had no time to do so. That explained the earlier scene.

Shisui's eyes were precious Mangekyō Sharingan, and Tōshirō wanted to deal with Danzo quickly while protecting them from destruction.

Hyuga Hizashi glanced at Danzo and sighed. "I'm just thinking of the bigger picture."

After speaking, he shifted his gaze to Tōshirō.

Earlier, while Tōshirō confronted Danzo, he had learned some insider information.

The village's attempt to kill Tōshirō indirectly caused Tsunade's death, which drove Tōshirō to become ruthless, determined to eliminate the higher-ups.

Hearing "the bigger picture," Danzo felt mocked. The man who thought he turned everyone into pawns had now become one himself. "You've won. Kill me."

Saying this aged Danzo instantly.

"No need for you to tell me. I will," Tōshirō said with a smile. "But don't worry about being alone—you'll be joined by your comrades in the afterlife shortly."

Danzo furrowed his brow, realizing something, and in a low voice said: "You killed Hizashi…"

"Don't put it so harshly, it wasn't me."

Danzo was stunned. "Not you?"

"Mm, it was Asuma."

Danzo's pupils widened in disbelief. "Asuma? You mean Hizashi's son?"

"Hehe, interesting, isn't it? He will bear all the sins. In this way, the Uchiha clan won't worry about tainting their comrades. You intended this for the Uchiha, and now you reap the consequences. How does it feel?"

Danzo: …

"Once I finish dealing with you higher-ups, I will become Hokage. Then, through proper governance, I'll unify the Land of Fire under a single nation. From now on, no more village-by-village rule—only my creation, the Nation of Flame."

Tōshirō sneered: "An achievement you'll never attain in your lifetime."

Danzo lowered his head, silent for a long time, then broke into a deranged laugh: "Good, very good, well done."

Tōshirō frowned slightly. Is this old man going mad facing death?

"I always thought I was ruthless enough, but you're far more so. With Konoha in your hands, no one will dare provoke it again."

Tōshirō snorted. "Being praised by someone like you is hardly flattering."

Finally gaining the upper hand, Danzo laughed.

Tōshirō's tone grew serious: "I have a question for you."

"Oh? What is it?"

"How did White Fang die?"

"Why are you asking that?"

"I'm just curious."

The Sharingan can record, and Tōshirō wanted to record this for Kakashi.

"You can ask that. I guess with your intelligence, you already suspect the answer."

"I want a precise answer."

Danzo exhaled and detailed everything.

Lying was pointless; the Sharingan can induce hypnosis.

The onlookers were shocked and disgusted.

No wonder the village was weakening. These higher-ups focused on power, even betraying comrades, and Danzo had once served such a village.

"Any more questions?"

"No," Tōshirō shook his head. "As a reward for being so honest, you may now die."

Danzo gave a sinister smile: "I'll wait for you in hell, the day you die."

"You might never get that chance…"

Tōshirō glanced aside, giving a signal: "Do it…"

Physical punishment is limited; the mind bears the cruelest torment.

Itachi's three-tomoe Sharingan spun rapidly, forming curved shuriken patterns.

Seeing these eyes, Danzo was briefly surprised, then calmed, feeling somewhat moved: "Indeed, you also possess these eyes. The Uchiha truly have many talented members…"

But then he realized he was in an unfamiliar place. The sky was pale gray, the ground littered with heads. Some faces he recognized—those he had killed. Others he did not, possibly indirectly killed or forgotten.

He tried to move, shocked to find himself bound to a cross, hands and feet chained, unable to move.

Next, space twisted, and a familiar figure appeared, coldly addressing him as if he were livestock:

"This is my genjutsu, Tsukuyomi.

Here, I control everything: time, space—anything I desire. You shall slowly feel the pain of eternal scars."

In reality, Danzo, trembling and crying, could barely comprehend his situation.

"Human endurance has limits. Once exceeded, one collapses."

Time in this Tsukuyomi world is but a fraction of real time. Tōshirō was curious how much Itachi had set for Danzo to break him mentally.

"This is the power of the Uchiha…"

Hyuga Hizashi glanced at Itachi. At such a young age, possessing terrifying power, he thought, in time, there might be another Tōshirō. The Hyuga's position in the village would only rise further.

Tōshirō finally looked at Danzo on the ground, reached out, and with murderous intent, someone immediately handed him a blade. With one hand, he pierced Danzo's neck. Blood sprayed across the ground.

"Go eliminate the rest."

Tōshirō's casual tone made it sound as light as talking about tomorrow's weather.
