Chapter 221 - Chapter 221: To Protect Tsunade, I Choose to Warm Her Bed

As long as he becomes the perfect Jinchūriki of the Five-Tails, then the problem will be easily solved.

Originally, Tōshirō intended to beat up the Five-Tails and then become its perfect Jinchūriki.

But that method would take too long, and in the short term, he estimated he couldn't defeat the Five-Tails.

So, Tōshirō decided to take a different approach. If you want someone to obediently listen to you, the best way is to satisfy their desires—or instill fear.

As for the former, tailed beasts don't have desires, so that path was a dead end. That left only the option of intimidating the Five-Tails.

What tailed beasts fear most is, without a doubt, being sealed into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and becoming part of the Ten-Tails.

Thinking of this, Tōshirō grinned wickedly.

Heh heh...

The Five-Tails, keenly sensing something, asked: "Why are you suddenly smiling so maliciously?"

"It's nothing," Tōshirō casually brushed it off, a sly glint flashing in his eyes.

In his mind, he had already come up with a general scheme to fool the Five-Tails. He'd claim that he had traveled to the future and witnessed someone stuffing the Five-Tails into the Gedo Statue.

What? You don't believe him?

Think time travel sounds like nonsense?

Tōshirō would just slap the Five-Tails in the face with the lore of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, the God Tree, and the Ten-Tails, and see if it believed him.

And technically, he wasn't even lying—Uchiha Madara did intend to stuff all the tailed beasts into himself.

In the original story, Madara had the Kirigakure shinobi kidnap Rin while Minato was away. Minato couldn't be watching over Rin 24/7, so that move was indeed unavoidable.

Tōshirō himself would have been troubled in that situation too, unsure of what to do.

Luckily, he wasn't dumb—he could think on his feet. And soon enough, he came up with a method.

No other choice...

Looks like he'd have to use his body—choose to warm Tsunade's bed.

Tōshirō sighed inwardly. Under pressure, he made a decision that would make his ancestors roll in their graves. Once he came down from the mountains, he decided he'd move in with Tsunade and become her 24/7 personal bodyguard.

Yep… even while sleeping, he'd protect her.

What impure thoughts could he possibly have? He was doing it purely out of the intent to protect Tsunade.

Tōshirō refused to believe it—if he was literally glued to Tsunade every day, even while sleeping, how would Uchiha Madara ever get a chance to kidnap her?

If Madara, like in the original story, sent ninja to abduct Tsunade, he'd just kill whoever came—one or two, didn't matter.

If Madara came in person...

Uh...

Even then, Tōshirō wouldn't be scared.

Madara wouldn't want to reveal his identity, so he likely wouldn't use any of his signature moves—like Fire Style or the Sharingan.

In such a nerfed state, and with Tōshirō having the Sharingan + Sage Mode + a Tailed Beast—all three buffs active—and considering that Madara at that time was just an old man, he might actually stand a fighting chance.

Because his mind was filled with thoughts of how to deal with Madara, by the time he snapped out of it, he found himself brought to a lush, dense forest, surrounded by tall barbed wire. Upon closer look, there were small needle-like spikes on the wires.

A confused expression appeared on Tōshirō's face: "The Forest of Death? Why bring me here?"

The man walking in front of him replied, "Until you gain control over the power of the Tailed Beast, you will live in here."

Tōshirō: "..."

It seemed they were afraid the tailed beast's power inside him might go berserk, so they deliberately threw him into this desolate place.

"You are now a valuable asset to the village. Unless there are special circumstances, you are not allowed to leave here freely. Supplies will be delivered to you regularly."

Asset?

That wording sounded downright unpleasant. Tōshirō frowned slightly, visibly annoyed: "Fine."

What else could he say?

The Forest of Death was dangerous for ordinary people, but for Tōshirō, it was nothing.

Tōshirō followed the man into the Forest of Death. Since this place was often used by Tōshirō and Tsunade for their secret rendezvous, the path was familiar to him. He pushed through some shrubs and arrived at an open clearing.

On the ground in front of him was a large circular pattern, and above it, a small wooden cabin had been built. Tōshirō remembered that there hadn't been a cabin here before—this must've been newly constructed to accommodate his living needs.

At the same time, near the small cabin stood a figure. Her hair was styled in a bun, her face showed signs of age, and she wore simple clothing—giving the overall appearance of a kind and gentle neighborhood grandmother.

Tōshirō recognized her. Though he hadn't seen her many times, the impression was deep—he immediately recognized her as Tsunade's grandmother, the wife of the First Hokage: Uzumaki Mito.

Tōshirō more or less understood what was going on.

Since they were both Jinchūriki, the village naturally thought of having another Jinchūriki guide him in controlling the tailed beast within.

"Come on, don't keep Lady Mito waiting too long."

The man walking in front urged him. Tōshirō followed behind, and the moment his foot stepped across the red line on the ground, the Five-Tails inside him suddenly grew restless.

Tōshirō asked, "What's wrong, Little Five?"

"This is a barrier—it suppresses my power."

Tōshirō understood now. So the design on the ground was meant for this: "The village really went all out to prevent you from going berserk inside me."

The Five-Tails grumbled, "How unpleasant."

Tōshirō nodded in agreement. "Mm."

"And stop calling me Little Five. Call me King Mu."

The Five-Tails' voice was full of indignation, but Tōshirō let it pass like a breeze: "Alright, Little Five."

Five-Tails: "…"

The man and the beast bickered for a bit, and before they knew it, they had arrived before Mito.

Mito nodded to the person accompanying Tōshirō. "I'll take it from here."

"Yes, ma'am."

Receiving the message, the man immediately disappeared. There was no one more suitable than sealing master Uzumaki Mito to oversee someone like Tōshirō.

"Greetings, Lady Mito."

It was Tōshirō's first time alone with Mito, and he bowed politely, putting on his well-behaved face.

Since Mito was Tsunade's grandmother, building a good relationship with her was absolutely necessary.

Just as he was pondering what to say to win her favor, a wave of warmth suddenly spread from the top of his head.

A gentle hand had been placed there, softly stroking.

Tōshirō looked up and locked eyes with those clear, serene pupils. Though her irises were dark as night, he felt a light-like warmth radiating from them.

Mito spoke in a soft, nurturing voice, "Don't worry. From now on, I'll help you learn to control the power of the tailed beast within you."

Tōshirō could feel her kindness and responded with a bright, positive tone: "Thank you, Lady Mito. Your encouragement means a lot. I'll be sure to work twice as hard."

"Tailed beasts are born of resentment. To bear that resentment, we—who serve as vessels—must be full of love." A gentle smile played on Mito's lips. "In that way, even as a Jinchūriki, one can still find happiness."

"Hmph, easier said than done! If that's really the case, then hurry up and let me out already!"Mito's Nine-Tails grumbled loudly inside her.

Tōshirō thought that voice sounded awfully familiar. With a confused expression, he asked, "Love is the key?"

"Yes," Mito replied. "And you already possess it now."

Her eyes twinkled with warmth as she smiled. "I already know about you and Tsunade."

Seeing her attitude, it didn't seem like she disapproved of the relationship. After a moment, Tōshirō slowly asked, "You already know… about that?"
