Chapter 323 - 315: Robot Laborers

Soon, following Enterprise's pace, Lin Lan saw the interior of a workshop with its large doors wide open.

If he hadn't looked closely, he wouldn't have been so shocked.

Originally, he had assumed that the ammunition production line workers inside the workshop would be manned by Manjuu creatures, just like in the Ironblood faction.

But what he never expected was that the workers in the workshop were actually…

Robots dressed in blue work uniforms!

And not just any robots, but the third-generation Oland robots he had seen back in Yunhai City when Sun Dewang had just brought him to the villa!

These robot laborers were working hard on the assembly lines inside the workshop, handling various ammunition production tasks.

Just in this one building, Lin Lan estimated there were nearly a hundred robots at a glance.

"Commander, what's wrong?"

Essex, walking beside him, noticed the surprise on Lin Lan's face and asked curiously.

"You guys… where did these robot laborers come from? Back in the port area, the ammunition production and later stages were all supposed to be handled by Manjuu, right?"

Lin Lan pointed at the robots working inside the workshop as he asked Essex. It wasn't that he disliked robots, but this scene was far beyond what he had imagined.

Though he was a materialist who revered science and believed robots would surely replace human labor in the future, he hadn't expected it to be realized right under his nose in the Eagle Union faction!

This was just too ahead of its time!

"Commander, are you talking about these robots?

These robots are produced using technology we previously acquired from the Goilia Consortium.

Powered by Cube Energy at their core, they perfectly replace Manjuu for military logistics tasks."

Essex finally found an opportunity to explain to the commander clearly, like an honor student called on by a teacher.

Hearing that these robots were produced by the Eagle Union fleet girls themselves, Lin Lan finally relaxed a little.

For some reason, he always had an inexplicable dislike for the third-generation robots produced by the Tianxing Consortium.

Especially back in Yunhai City, when he learned from Sun Dewang that these third-generation robots had a certain level of artificial intelligence, he immediately ordered Sun Dewang to take all those robots away.

"These robots are very durable and also have some learning ability. Under Manjuu supervision, they can work efficiently without eating or drinking."

Seeing Lin Lan's obvious interest, Essex added further explanation.

"Robots also require maintenance. If ammunition reserves are sufficient, it's best not to let robots work around the clock.

It's recommended to dedicate two days per week specifically for robot maintenance."

Lin Lan nodded in agreement, then instructed Essex:

"If robots run continuously for long periods without timely repairs after faults occur, it could cause a series of accidents.

So regular maintenance is essential, and no carelessness can be allowed."

Although Lin Lan had never dealt with robots back on Blue Star, that didn't stop him from applying his knowledge of equipment safety and production to robot management.

"Understood, Commander. I will definitely convey this to Senior Sara."

After this, Lin Lan didn't pay much more attention to the robot laborers.

The group left the production workshop and arrived in front of the equipment warehouse sealed behind steel doors.

As the steel doors bearing the Eagle Union logo slowly rose, Lin Lan once again saw many pieces of equipment he had encountered before in the game's warehouse.

However, the quantity of equipment in the Eagle Union warehouse was noticeably less than that of the Ironblood fortress, and most of it was purple-grade gear.

The vast warehouse felt rather empty.

Lin Lan was not surprised at all—after all, many of the equipments were already equipped by the Eagle Union fleet girls standing right beside him.

He just needed to check the current equipment his Eagle Union fleet girls were wearing, to see if anything he had overlooked before needed replacement.

Though Intrepid's grudge against him was just a joke, he really had forgotten her. With so many fleet girls, such oversights were inevitable.

In the game, he only needed to tap the screen to change a fleet girl's equipment, but now he had to first understand the inventory list, then notify the fleet girls to perform the replacement.

The equipment warehouse inventory list Lin Lan wanted was quickly fetched by the athletic junior Maury.

As he flipped through it, he indeed saw several Eagle Union fleet girls still using transitional purple gear.

Besides Intrepid, there were members of the Little Beaver squad, heavy cruisers Pensacola, and the Salt Lake City sisters.

These were all sets of transitional equipment he had used during leveling but then forgotten.

Even after his disappearance for so long, they still hadn't replaced their gear on their own.

Lin Lan looked at the list and smiled bitterly, not sure whether to say his fleet girls were stubborn or extremely loyal to his orders.

In any case, the Eagle Union warehouse still held many of the graduation-grade equipments he had earned through large operations and events.

He selected the appropriate gear for those few fleet girls and instructed Enterprise to remind them to come back later for replacements.

After finishing this, Lin Lan sighed helplessly at the many equipment boxes behind the finished products on the list, along with various quality-grade materials for equipment development.

Back in the game, these golden and colorful development materials were rewards he had painstakingly farmed, but they were still officially given rewards from the game itself.

Now, even if he wanted to strike out again against the Sirens, he could no longer obtain those exclusive rewards from them.

Cherish what you have.

Fortunately, his fleet girls' ship equipment was produced by Cube Technology, so they wouldn't wear out or age over time.

After having Enterprise send the equipment list separately to his phone for future reference, Lin Lan chose not to stay too long here.

The constant rumbling noise in the surrounding workshops was a serious source of noise pollution. Luckily, only the robot laborers who didn't fear noise worked inside.

Even the round little Manjuu workers wore ear protection.

"Commander, do you want to see our underground oil warehouse?"

Hearing Enterprise's question, Lin Lan shook his head.

"No, no. Enterprise, just send me your current oil reserves on my phone. It's too noisy here. Let's get out earlier."

"Hmph, Hammann thought you, this idiot, were like those Ironblood guys who actually enjoy staying in this kind of environment!"

Hearing the white-haired cat-eared little chibi Hammann's words, Lin Lan chuckled.

It did seem that, apart from the High Seas Fleet's girls, Ironblood fleet girls preferred staying in these workshop environments, tinkering with machinery and maintaining their mechanical dragons.

Even the Ironblood flagship Bismarck would spend her leisure time creating mechanical projects in such workshops…

Wait!

Thinking of Bismarck and mechanical dragons, Lin Lan suddenly remembered something he had forgotten.

Damn it, I totally forgot to discuss with Bismarck how to make her a new mechanical dragon!

Thinking of this, Lin Lan slapped his head in regret. He had been so distracted by Bismarck's beauty that he forgot this important matter.

My bad, my bad, Bismarck, I'm sorry!

"Teacher, what's wrong? Don't be unhappy, here, let me pat your head!"

Anchorage noticed Lin Lan's frustration and gently reached out to pat his head.

The little angel Anchorage didn't know why her commander was suddenly so upset, but still gave a pure smile to comfort him.

Anchorage's actions caught the attention of the other Eagle Union fleet girls, who all glanced at Lin Lan with puzzled expressions.

"It's nothing, nothing. I just suddenly remembered something important I forgot to do back in the Ironblood faction. I'll get it done when we return to the old port area, no rush."

Lin Lan held Anchorage's hand in his own, smiling fondly at the beige-haired big kid, then explained to everyone.

Enterprise and Essex nodded without further questions, and the group continued walking toward the entrance they had come through.

But at this moment, Gridley, who was holding a camera, revealed a sly smile, quietly came up to Lin Lan, tugged on his sleeve, and whispered in a low voice to the bewildered Lin Lan:

"Hehe~ Commander, that important thing you just mentioned, could it be about Bismarck's ship rigging mechanical dragon~?"
