Chapter 249 - 242: "Vampires"

Human desire is endless. No one ever thinks they have too much wealth or power—and exploiting others is often the quickest way to gain both.

Just as these people were indignantly discussing their plans, the sound of a cane tapping suddenly rang out, interrupting them.

"Are you done talking? If so, then it's my turn to speak."

A youthful voice echoed through the private room, shocking all the senior elites of the Tian'ou Group.

"Chairman Yang, why does your voice sound so young...?"

When everyone turned their eyes toward Yang Fengbo, what they saw made their hearts freeze in terror.

Standing behind Yang Fengbo's elephant-head chair was a man in black, wearing a red-and-black mask, flanked by two beautiful female guards.

And the Yang Fengbo who had seemed so calm and composed just moments ago—his neck was now twisted like a pretzel, eyes wide open in fear, frozen in horror.

He had died silently in his seat while they were passionately discussing—without anyone noticing!

"Hehehe, originally, I thought if you were merely planning to defect to the Battleaxe Arms Company, it wouldn't be enough to warrant death.

With Yang Fengbo dead, I could've spared the rest of you and handed you over to Jian Qian'ou for judgment."

"But you not only wanted to exploit ordinary people's rights—you even dared to hoard food and profit from war?"

From behind the mask, Lin Lan's voice carried an uncontrollable killing intent as he stared at the so-called corporate elites, now filled with fear.

They had to understand—if war really broke out, it would severely impact civilian life across all regions of the Western Continent.

If food supplies were monopolized and controlled by these people, who knew how many would starve to death amid the chaos?

Such things had occurred time and again in Blue Star's history.

For those who committed such evil deeds, there was once a great figure in the former Northern Union who had a very clear policy:

Immediate execution. No mercy!

"Roon, I'll leave it to you. Don't leave any survivors."

"No problem~ In fact, this suits me perfectly~"

After giving the order to Roon, Lin Lan turned and walked out of the room with Agir, without even glancing back.

"Who... who are you people...?"

The pink-haired beauty looked at them with a smile, but her eyes gleamed with a scarlet light filled with murderous intent.

Everyone in the room suddenly felt as if they were in the middle of a blood-soaked battlefield. A chill ran down their spines and their hair stood on end.

"What a pity. The Commander won't let me use naval artillery... but I'll still make sure your deaths are as miserable as possible~ Hehehe~"

The moment Lin Lan stepped out of the room, heart-wrenching screams erupted from within.

"Commander, is it all done?"

A cold voice cut through the screaming. Outside the door, leaning against the wall, was a slender woman with short black hair.

Ulrich.

"Mm. They were just a bunch of ordinary people... no, I should say they were vampires."

Lin Lan looked at Ulrich and removed his mask as he spoke.

Within just a few breaths, the room fell completely silent.

Roon walked out, a joyful smile on her face, wiping her hands with a white handkerchief she'd produced from who-knows-where.

"All taken care of?"

"If you're worried, Commander, you can go in and check~"

Seeing Roon's cheerful face, Lin Lan decided against checking the room.

"When you do something, I can trust the outcome."

Roon was well-known as a war-hungry extremist within the Ironblood faction. Lin Lan was very familiar with her methods.

If he went in, it would probably keep him up all night.

"Let's go. Have Sun Dewang clean up the mess."

Before their arrival, Sun Dewang had already arranged for the hotel to be secured and the aftermath to be managed.

There was no need for Lin Lan to worry about the rest.

And just as Lin Lan expected, once he went downstairs and relayed the events to Sun Dewang, Tian'ou Group's special task force quickly sealed off the scene upstairs.

By the time Lin Lan and his team boarded the business car heading back to the villa, the restaurant was already surrounded by over a dozen police cars.

By the next day, this incident would likely be labeled as an unfortunate accident and make headlines.

Or, the information might be completely suppressed.

As for the special task force officers who entered the room and were horrified by the gruesome scene—some of them even vomiting on the spot—that had nothing to do with Lin Lan.

To these vampires who preyed on ordinary people, Lin Lan felt they deserved nothing less than death.

However, when the Tian'ou special forces personnel began investigating all the hotel staff who were present, they discovered that one female staff member who should've been on duty never came forward.

They soon traced her to her home.

After getting no response, they broke in—only to find the woman fast asleep in her bed.

During her interrogation, she said she had gone to sleep the previous night and only woke when they broke into her home.

She had no idea she had slept for so long.

Her neighbors and hallway surveillance confirmed she hadn't left her apartment all day.

But here's the problem:

According to her coworkers, she had definitely gone to work at the restaurant—and had even clocked in using her fingerprint.

This made no logical sense.

But the next day, the upper levels of Tian'ou Group ordered the investigation closed.

And so the matter was dropped. The confused female employee was released without charges.

Lin Lan was unaware of any of this. After returning to the villa, he began final preparations for the next day's oath ceremony with the help of his shipgirls.

"In the game, the oath ceremony only requires you to drag a ring animation... but a real one is definitely not that simple."

With the help of Z46 and Nimi, Lin Lan tried on several formal outfits prepared for him by Akashi, going at it well into the night.

Meanwhile, the mechanical girl Sui Qiong was being fitted with a beautiful white wedding dress by Akashi and the Deutschland sisters.

They also explained what to do during the oath ceremony.

Roon, after returning, took the three little wolfpack lolis into the kitchen to prepare desserts and food for the next day's event.

While trying on suits, Lin Lan learned from Teacher Nimi that although the oath ceremony seemed complicated, it was actually fairly straightforward.

All it required was for the two to make their vows in the chapel, Lin Lan to place the oath ring on Sui Qiong's finger, and for both to sign the oath document. That would conclude it.

None of the complicated parts of a Blue Star wedding—like gift money, family witnesses, or formal banquets—were needed.

"Speaking of the oath document, where are the ones I signed with you all before?"

Lin Lan couldn't help but ask once Nimi finished explaining the process.

"Commander, that's a very irresponsible question."

The adorable starter ship loli Nimi helped Lin Lan take off his coat and folded it neatly onto the bed, pouting as she replied:

"The oath documents are such precious items. Of course each of us keeps ours with us at all times."

As she finished speaking, both Nimi and the quiet loli Z46—Leonie—produced paper certificates decorated with platinum-framed designs and tied with blue ribbons.

Taking Nimi's oath document, Lin Lan looked at the accompanying photo: Nimi wearing a pure black wedding dress, a black translucent veil on her head, adorned with red roses.

It looked just like her oath artwork from the game—beautiful, touching, and adorable.

When he made his vow with Z23, Nimi's wedding outfit hadn't even been implemented in the game yet.

It wasn't until much later that this outfit was added.

"Mm, Nimi, you look really beautiful in that wedding dress. Come to think of it, I haven't seen you wear it in real life since I returned. Could you wear it for me someday?"

Lin Lan handed the oath document back to Nimi with a smile.

Hearing that, little Nimi immediately blushed, snatched the oath paper back, turned her gaze away, and said shyly:

"I-idiot! A wedding dress isn't something you just wear whenever you want..."

Lin Lan chuckled and reached out to gently pat her cheek.

"My beloved, it's been years since we made our oath... and yet, you've never even bought me a wedding dress."

At that moment, the silver-haired literature-loving loli goddess Z46 spoke in her usual calm tone.

"Ah, uh..."

Lin Lan froze.

Looking at the golden-eyed, expressionless loli beside him, he suddenly remembered—up until he crossed over, Z46 had never received a wedding outfit in the game.

And not just Z46—most shipgirls hadn't gotten their wedding outfits either.

"Well... Leonie, I promise I'll make it up to you later, okay?"

Lin Lan walked up to Z46, knelt down, gently wrapped his arms around her petite figure, and sincerely whispered his vow.

At the same time, he swore to himself that not only Z46—but all the shipgirls without wedding outfits—would eventually receive one.

After all, he was the Ring King who had given every shipgirl a ring.
