"What's wrong?" Jacob asked, sensing the change in his friend. "Is there something?"
Aiden glanced at him, considering it for a moment, then shook his head.
"I will look into it," he said quietly.
Jacob narrowed his eyes, clearly not convinced. But he didn't push. He knew Aiden well enough to recognize when the man had closed the door on a conversation.
"Alright," Jacob said, nodding. "Just let me know if something comes up. Sharing isn't always a weakness. We are friends, Aiden. We are meant to help each other."
His words were just a reminder that Jacob thought Aiden needed.
