For ten years, Peter has failed to write a play or novel that would match the success of his famous novel, "The Crime of the Four Lambs." Exhausted by frustration and despair, he decides to sail to Venice, where he plans to stay with an old friend, a bachelor who lives in a luxurious hotel. In search of inspiration and solitude. But once he settles in the hotel, his curiosity begins to stir towards his next-door neighbor, a man named Milton. He finds himself involuntarily drawn to discover what this mysterious neighbor is hiding

I hope you are well. It has been a long time since we last spoke, but now I find myself needing to reach out to you. I may have drifted apart for a while, but I have not forgotten that old promise we made to each other, to be a refuge in times of need.


 The truth is, I'm in a terrible state. My attempts to write a new work have failed, and luck seems to be failing me at every turn. I feel trapped in an endless cycle of helplessness and frustration. So, I've decided to travel for a while, seeking solitude and inspiration away from everyone who knows me.  I wonder if I could stay with you for a while?


I know you still live in that fancy hotel, and I hope your apartment can handle another person's burden. All I need is a quiet place to regroup and regain my writing power.


 I know this request may seem abrupt, but I trust you, and I believe your presence may be just what I need to come back to myself. If it's inappropriate, please tell me honestly, and I won't hold any grudges.
