Chapter 6 - Chapter 6, The Queen or the Royal Sister?

Shen Fanyun could only respond to Su Xiyang's reaction with a wry smile.

Did he look that fierce?

With a sidelong glance, however, he found that Su Xiyang was indeed quite tempting today. Her blazer outlined her perfect figure, and her icy demeanor gave Shen Fanyun a different impression.

An older sister type? A queen? Shen Fanyun inevitably let his thoughts drift, imagining Su Xiyang in black leather pants with a whip in hand, crouched right in front of him and ready to unleash her wild side...

Su Xiyang's breathing grew ragged. The mischievous smile that appeared on Shen Fanyun's face, in particular, left her feeling at a complete loss.

Fortunately, Shen Fanyun made no further move. He followed Su Xiyang into her private office. As he pushed open the door, a fresh scent wafted over him.

Su Xiyang got straight to the point. "You aren't seriously planning to freeload at my company, are you? I've told you, we're just strangers who met by chance. There's no need for us to get entangled any further. Let's put what happened these past two days behind us, and you should stop looking for me." As she spoke, she poured Shen Fanyun a glass of water.

If this guy really has the gall to stick around as the so-called head of the security department, what happened between them will inevitably be exposed over time. She doesn't care whether Shen Fanyun has any shame, but she, Su Xiyang, certainly does!

Shen Fanyun, however, brazenly overstepped and sat down in Su Xiyang's executive chair, his smile wicked and charming. "In broad daylight, a man and a woman all alone... Moreover, this chair is spacious enough. It would be quite wonderful if we shared it!"

Su Xiyang was speechless.

Rogue. Shameless. What in the world is going through this man's mind? Does he think about nothing but carnal pleasures all day? Doesn't he have a job? She rolled her eyes at him.

Shen Fanyun ignored her, his smile fading as he adopted a serious expression.

This shift made Su Xiyang's heart flutter slightly. She had to admit, when he was serious, he was actually quite handsome, possessing an indescribable masculine charm.

"I have something serious to discuss with you." Shen Fanyun slid the Fish-Dragon Jade Pendant across the desk.

Su Xiyang immediately cried out, reaching to snatch the pendant. "Why did you steal my things? When did you take it?"

So the investigation was correct. Su Xiyang really did have an identical jade pendant.

"Yours is still there," Shen Fanyun said.

Su Xiyang could only stare, confused.

Subconsciously touching her neck, Su Xiyang finally relaxed. Her own Fish-Dragon Jade Pendant was not lost. Thank goodness. After a moment, the young woman stood frozen on the spot.

Why does Shen Fanyun have one too? And it's exactly like hers? Could he be her long-lost biological brother? Did her father never tell her about a brother who went missing as a child? Her own brother? This is terrible! Su Xiyang's eyes widened as she thought about what had happened with Shen Fanyun over the last two days. She... isn't this a complete mess? To do... that kind of thing... with her own brother?

"At first, I also considered whether we might be siblings," Shen Fanyun shrugged, dispelling her concerns.

"Why do you have this?" Su Xiyang asked, before continuing, "This was a gift from my father. I've worn it since I was a child. He hoped this jade pendant would bring me good fortune!"

If they aren't full siblings... could it be possible that Father has another woman? And that woman is Shen Fanyun's mother? In other words, they're half-siblings with the same father? But... her father, who has been amiable and refined his entire life, doesn't seem like that kind of person!

Shen Fanyun shook his head again, allowing Su Xiyang to let go of her worries completely.

"I need to meet your father."

Since Su Xiyang also wanted to know what was going on, she nodded in agreement. However, it was still working hours, and she had a pile of work to get through. They would have to wait until she got off.

Shen Fanyun grunted in acknowledgement. Without any ceremony, he moved to the sofa, kicked off his shoes, and promptly fell asleep for a nap. He was so fast that he gave Su Xiyang no chance to say anything else.

The corner of Su Xiyang's mouth twitched. "What a nuisance," she muttered.

「At dusk.」

Su Xiyang personally drove Shen Fanyun to the Su residence.

While the Su Family couldn't compare to the likes of Han Feng's Han Family or Wang Yanwen's, they were still a prominent and respected family in Hangcheng City. Moreover, thirty years ago, Old Master Su had led the Su Family through a period of glory, when they were practically local magnates. They had simply declined since then.

Su Xiyang's father was Su Ming, a businessman who looked more like a scholar. He had a good temper but unfortunately married a domineering wife. As a result, his presence in the Su Family wasn't very strong. Thankfully, he was content with his quiet life and got by.

"Wow, you really brought home that so-called boyfriend of yours?" a mocking voice called out just as Su Xiyang and Shen Fanyun stepped out of the car. "Su Xiyang, I never took you for someone so bold. Grandfather is with guests right now. Aren't you afraid of making him angry by bringing someone like this over? And this guy... the more I look at him, the more he looks like a kept man. TSK TSK, I can tell at a glance he's the type to live off a woman!"

Shen Fanyun turned his head to see a short-haired woman who resembled Su Xiyang by about fifty or sixty percent. Her cousin, maybe?

Su Xiyang was also taken aback. As she composed herself, she remembered how she had been forced to lie about having a boyfriend to fend off Wang Yanwen's relentless pursuit. It was only meant to be a temporary measure. Who would have thought she'd then run into Shen Fanyun? And now, because of the Fish-Dragon Jade Pendant, he had to come to the Su residence in person. One thing had led to another, and now her cousin, Su Ziye, had mistaken Shen Fanyun for her new boyfriend.

Su Xiyang felt a headache coming on. Could this be fate?

"You toad, is the Su residence a place you can just waltz into? Why don't you go take a look at your own reflection in a puddle!" Su Ziye sneered at Shen Fanyun. "I advise you to turn around and leave. Otherwise, if you end up humiliated, you'll have only yourself to blame!"

Of course, her real target in all of this was Su Xiyang.

"Su Ziye, he is a guest! Show some respect," Su Xiyang scolded.

"Heh, Grandfather is already furious with you for your disobedience. Instead of trying to appease him, you bring this strange man to our doorstep, intent on adding fuel to the fire. Su Xiyang, you'd better think about your own situation."

Su Ziye laughed coldly, and with a sharp click of her heels, she turned and disappeared from sight.

Su Xiyang stood where she was and took a deep breath. She looked up at the high lintel of her family home, a sense of unease creeping into her heart. Her mood soured even more when she thought of her typically strict and conservative grandfather.

"Let's go in," Su Xiyang said, leading the way.

Shen Fanyun grinned. It seems this visit is going to be anything but peaceful. Being mistaken for the Su Family's new son-in-law... TSK TSK, this is like walking into a trap!
