Trade Update: The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired JJ Watt and a 2021 fourth-round pick from the Houston Texans in exchange for a first-round pick in 2020.
Everything has settled.
As McNair said, the Houston Texans had no reason to refuse:
Hopkins was only traded for a troublesome running back, David Johnson, and a second-round pick, not to mention dealing with David Johnson's awful contract.
But now, the Houston Texans only need to give up a battered Watt, whose heart is elsewhere and has become an unstable element in the locker room, along with a fourth-round pick next year to get a first-round pick this year. This means O'Brien can make two moves in the first round of the draft this year, building a competitive team with future potential around Watson.
A bargain!
Of course, the Kansas City Chiefs had the same thought.
