Wenli's POV:
~One day later~
Ever since we visited my aunt and uncle yesterday, Ruofei hasn't been like himself. As if something is troubling him.
I tried asking him but he won't tell me. Maybe he is just worried about leaving them like this.
I watch him sleep but my thoughts still don't stop. They are running around in my head.
What if he doesn't want to leave anymore? What if he wants to return to that monster just because he loves him?
No... that's impossible. Ruofei said he will forget him as soon as we leave. I am not sure who is he lying to at this point.
I reach out for my phone and unlock it. I send a text to my aunt that we will be leaving sooner so Qingyue doesn't find us once he learns we are leaving.
I hear a groan and turn to Ruofei's direction only to find him wide awake, staring at me.
"Did I wake you up, soulmate?" He shakes his head. "What happened, Wenli?"
"I am sorry, Ruofei." "Did something serious happen?" "I am afraid we need to leave sooner than planned..."
"Why!?" I hear the worry in his voice and he has every right to be worried. I sigh. "Qingyue is already suspecting something. If we don't leave now... I don't think we will leave later."
He doesn't reply but I can see first tears sliding down his cheeks. No. No. No! What the hell did I do!?
"Ruofei! Please, don't cry. I am really sorry." He wipes his tears into the sleeve of his pajamas and looks at me with a sad smile on his face.
"It's not your fault, Wenli. I just really thought he would never hurt me and that we will be happy together. I...I can't believe he did it..."
He laughs as the tears continue rolling down his cheeks. "Just why? Why did he have to hurt me like this after all those years I loved him?"
I hug him tightly as he closes his eyes. "That monster doesn't deserve your love, Ruofei." Touching his stomach, I smile. "They do."
His eyes float open with shock. "They?" I laugh. "Yeah. I've been doing some research and I am pretty sure you are pregnant with twins, Ruofei."
He smiles. "I can't believe this! I am going to have two babies to keep me company!"
I nod. "I am not completely sure yet and you will have to get an ultrasound but there is a high possibility that what I said is true."
He literally beams with happiness. Then, his expression changes.
"Are we... really going to leave today?" "Yes. I am sorry, Ruofei. I know you wanted to stay here for longer but he will find you till then."
He nods, replacing the happiness with seriousness. "I understand. Please, give me an hour to pack my things and to get ready. We can leave right after.." He looks at his stomach. "... we eat something."
I burst out laughing and he watches me, only to burst out laughing seconds later.
I get up from the bed. "I am going to order takeout. What would you like?" "A sandwich and a lemonade, please." "Sure, no problem."
~Two hours later~
Ruofei's POV:
I look up and see a jet that my aunt sent for us. I still can't believe I am doing this but it's better for the babies. I can't let them share the life style I do since a young age, can I?
My parents sent me a long message, telling me that they are proud of my decision and they will contact me as much as possible.
Wenlan sent me a similar text with a screenshot pinned to it. When I open it, I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry.
Wenlan blocked Qingyue's contact and actually asked me, if he should delete it as well. He was completely ignoring the fact that Qingyue is his brother-in-law.
He did as much as he could to cut all contact with him. For me.
The only one who didn't text me was Lexin. She doesn't really like texting since it makes her uncomfortable. She prefers calling instead.
I wrote her a message that we can talk after we land in Korea, but she didn't read the message. She is probably too busy with working.
Wenli takes my hand in his and looks at me with worry. "Are you sure you are going to be okay?"
I nod with a smile. "Yeah, I promise." "Good." He suddenly grins, sending me completely of guard.
"My mum told me that she will be waiting for us at your favorite restaurant. She has really missed you."
I laugh. "I missed her too. Thankfully, we are going to meet very soon." I glance the jet. "Should we?"
He steps aside, making way for me. "Mothers first." I look at him, surprised. "How come you are such a gentleman now?" He glares. "Shut up before I change my decision."
We both burst out laughing as we entered the jet. I sit at the window seat, looking at the country I love so much and feeling sad that I have to leave it for a while.
We soon take of and Wenli decides that it's the perfect time to play Vivaldi. The music floats my senses and I soon find myself falling asleep. I just hope I can keep this up and stay calm, even if things take a drastic turn.
~One hour later~
Qingyue's POV:
"Where the hell is he!?" I ask my men in frustration. They start shaking from fear but I ignore it.
"I gave you one simple task and that was to protect him and keep your eyes on him. You failed to do both so tell me, why should you have eyes if you can't use them?"
"Sir, I think that's enough." I hear Charlie's voice and my head snaps in his direction. "Shut up, Charlie. What would you do if your girlfriend did that to you, huh?"
His eyes darken. "I would hunt her down and punish her for trying to run away." "Exactly." I say.
I then open the door to the basement and send them one last glance. "You will do everything to find him, understood?" They all nod and I smile as I enter the basement and close the door shut.
I look at the wall in front of me and sigh. I take off one of the photos on the wall, smiling. "Oh, princess. You think you can run away? Dream on. I will find you and once I do? This might get pretty ugly..."
