Obito was a complicated man. Perhaps due to constantly playing different roles, his personality had clearly begun to fracture.
Maybe it was because he had grown accustomed to wearing masks, but he could be the goofy Tobi, the ruthless Uchiha Madara, or the conflicted and twisted Obito.
The world was a strange place. Kabuto wore too many masks, desperately searching for his true self. On the other hand, Obito had discarded his true self and willingly donned a mask.
Even though he spouted grand ideals about war and peace, talking about creating a new world, who could say for sure that Obito himself hadn't doubted those words at some point?
Perhaps he felt he had no other choice, or maybe he had spilled too much blood to turn back.
But for Naruto, none of that mattered. He had no intention of empathizing with anyone. After all, most people lived with some kind of pain.
In this regard, Sasuke saw things more clearly. To him, the world was black and white. He didn't care about anyone else's feelings. His rules were the rules. It wasn't about what others thought, and it was about what he thought.
Naruto felt the same way, which was why he held grudges against Danzo, Itachi, and Kisame. He didn't care about their reasons or struggles, he would make them pay regardless.
However, when it came to matters that didn't directly concern him, Naruto wasn't as rigid. For example, with Nagato, when he saw Jiraiya's conflicted expression, he simply let him make the decision himself.
Naruto didn't have the ambition to be a savior, and even wants to take it easy with people on both sides.
However, as more and more people came to rely on him, he had no choice but to become their protector.
"I've released them. Now you..." Obito's gaze fell on the upright coffin. He couldn't understand how Naruto could use the Impure World Reincarnation so easily.
He had heard Madara mention it before, that the Impure World Reincarnation was a sinister Forbidden Technique developed by Tobirama. During the Shinobi World War, Konoha had been short on manpower.
Back then, the technique didn't require sacrifices, and the reanimated corpses had no consciousness. They were little more than living bombs strapped with explosive tags.
But now, it seemed like Naruto had taken this Forbidden Technique and elevated it to an entirely new level.
"Oh, don't worry. I'm a man of my word." Naruto snapped his fingers, and the coffin slid back into the ground, disappearing completely.
Since Obito had backed off from targeting his women, Naruto saw no need to keep using Rin as leverage. The situation had been urgent earlier, which is why he had to do that.
But now that it was resolved, he could afford to ease up.
"Where is the Kyubi?" Obito asked, stretching out his hand.
"Are you insane, or am I?" Naruto's expression turned cold, "You ignored me earlier when I tried to negotiate. Now you want the Kyubi? Even if it were a dog, I wouldn't give it to you."
"And tell that bastard Black Zetsu, wherever he's hiding, to keep his filthy hands off my women. Otherwise, I'll shove him back into his mother's womb."
Naruto's crude words made Obito's head hurt. He was starting to get a clearer picture of Naruto's character. He is a ruthless scoundrel who had no limits. And for the time being, he's stronger than him.
"You…" Obito was at a loss for words, but he had no desire to continue the argument.
"Hold up. Where do you think you're going?" Naruto clearly wasn't ready to let him off so easily.
Unfortunately, he was worried about Ino and Hinata now, and had no intention of getting entangled with Obito.
Black Zetsu's whereabouts are uncertain, which is like a time bomb. They were on the outskirts of the Konoha Forest, and it would take some time for Hinata and Ino to regroup with the people from the village.
'If Black Zetsu decided to cause trouble…'
Naruto narrowed his eyes and his face was darkening. While he could kill Obito now and deal with Black Zetsu later, but it would be a hassle.
Obito must die, there is no doubt about it. Whether it is for what he did to Minato or for wanting to kidnap Ino and Hinata, he deserved death.
This despicable scum had killed his teacher and his wife and then had the audacity to come back and torment their orphaned child.
What was worse, he had done it without hesitation, using underhanded methods.
No amount of redemption could cleanse someone like Obito. He was pure evil.
So Naruto didn't want Obito to die too easily. It would be too merciful to give him a quick death. Naruto wasn't one to let go of grudges. And when he killed, he aimed to destroy the heart as well.
There is no doubt that the only person Obito cares about is Rin. Although Naruto has just promised Obito that he will never reanimate Rin again, he hadn't said anything about reviving her.
"Hmm?" Obito's expression darkened. He had no desire to waste more time with Naruto.
"You can't control Black Zetsu?" Naruto was a little surprised, "So, what is the relationship between you two? Since you have been together for so long, you must have noticed something, right?"
"What does it have to do with you?" Obito replied coldly.
"It has nothing to do with me, but..." Naruto said directly, "Then why the hell don't you think about who killed Nohara Rin? Why would Uchiha Madara help you?"
"After all these years, don't you know what kind of person Black Zetsu is? And you just happened to witness the scene where Kakashi killed Nohara Rin! Don't you have any doubts?"
"Did Kakashi tell you this?" Obito frowned and glared at Naruto coldly, "What do you, an outsider, know?"
"Fine, I'll spell it out for you. Whether you listen or not is up to you. Nohara Rin's death was a trap set for you by Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu. Uchiha Madara placed a Curse Mark on Nohara Rin's heart and sealed Sanbi into her body."
Naruto didn't care about Obito's reaction and just continued talking to himself.
"Nohara Rin volunteered to die at Kakashi's hands for the sake of the village. And Uchiha Madara went through all that trouble just to manipulate you."
"In other words, the person who killed Nohara Rin is you, you idiot. If you had just died, Nohara Rin would still be alive. So, why don't you think about why it wasn't you who died?"
"What evidence do you have?" Obito lowered his eye, still without any reaction.
"Idiot." Naruto sneered contemptuously.
Obito fell silent, staring at the sneering Naruto again and again, his expression shifting unpredictably. No one knew what he was thinking, and he stood there for two minutes without saying a word.
"So what?"
"Huh?" Naruto narrowed his eyes, "What do you mean?"
"Even if that's the truth, so what? What's done is done. Rin is dead." Obito said, "None of it matters anymore. What's the point of saying all this?"
"This world…"
"Stop right there. Don't start with your grand philosophies, Uchiha Obito. You don't deserve it," Naruto cut him off, "The world will keep turning without you. Who do you think you are?"
"The only savior of the Shinobi World? The return of the king?"
"Let's stick to the facts and stop spouting empty words. Yes, the world is cruel. You lost someone you loved, but others haven't."
Having said that, Naruto took a deep breath and revealed his ultimate goal.
"I don't have time to waste on nonsense. I'll ask you one question: Do you want to bring Rin Nohara back to life?"
Hearing this, Obito was completely stunned, his pupil dilated slightly, and he looked at Naruto in disbelief.
"What?"
