Chapter 221 - Chapter 221: Wanting to die.

The rest of the day went by predictably, since as soon as Paul returned, Rin and Ran came to him to cultivate.

And they didn't mean one by one.

Paul, however, told them that tonight he would take care of the two of them, but for now, he wanted a bath to relax after a tough healing session.

In the bath, Paul started talking about the healing process of the Gu sisters with his reincarnation soul.

-Why can't I heal them more at a time?

Paul asked, not understanding why his reincarnation soul was stopping him, since he still had a lot of mana and could heal more of the two girls' injuries, without exhausting his power.

-Paul, as I said before, the most important quality for a healer is patience.

I know that you want to help these two, and I'm the same, but if we overdo it, there might be some unforeseen consequences, so it's better to take things slowly.

Additionally, these two ladies were close to death, and even now, they are not out of the woods yet.

Another reason for this is that their bodies might not withstand rapid healing in their current state.

Lastly, this is the best kind of training for you, especially when regeneration is involved.

Lord Sei explained.

And Paul had to admit that it made a lot of sense.

After the bath and a meal, Paul kept his word and took care of Rin and Ran, at the same time, until the two of them were exhausted, and fell asleep in his arms.

Ever since they used the potions and pills, all the ladies' cultivation went up like a rocket, and most of them were close to another breakthrough, mainly thanks to the vials he had left when he went to the elven forest.

However, his cultivation was far from being slow as well.

After gaining the five levels by taking the power of the seals from the Gu sisters, and his daily cultivation with the ladies, he had reached level 89 of the seventh stage in both cultivations.

This meant that in at most a week, he would be breaking through the eight-stage.

Comparing his current cultivation to the one he had before going back in time, his former cultivation was a joke.

Back then, it took him a decade to reach the fourth stage, while now he was only a step away from the eighth stage, and not even a year had passed since he restarted his cultivation.

Not to mention all the other things that happened during this time, which he never experienced the last time.

The next day, he once again returned to continue healing the two sisters, who by now had woken up and were more than happy, as they at least could speak again.

However, their mother was a different story, since she looked like someone had taken her soul.

-What's going on?

Paul asked Madam Gu as soon as he saw her in this state.

-They told me who did it, and why.

They also told me that they were not only disfigured and tortured, but also raped multiple times by different men.

Madam Gu explained, and tears fell from her eyes, which already looked like she had been crying for hours.

Hearing that, Paul froze.

He never expected these two young ladies to be raped by multiple men.

-Worst of all.

Madam Gu said, trying not to cry in front of Paul.

-They asked me to kill them and end their suffering.

As soon as she said that, she fell apart and started crying, not caring about her image anymore.

-I think that they don't mean that.

It's most likely their pain and shame that they want to get rid of by dying.

-How would you know that?

Madam Gu almost shouted at him when he was trying to console her.

-Because two of my women were raped in the past, and they told me exactly how they felt after that.

Paul explained.

Not for the first time, he regretted that Fei Fei was not here anymore, as she was way better at such things than he was.

As for talking about their experiences with Su and Elaina.

Paul did so, to be sure he would not trigger any trauma response when they cultivated, and accidentally, helped them get over it all, since talking to him about it all worked like a therapeutic session, allowing the two ladies to say everything they kept bottled up.

The two of them admitted later that they felt much better after sharing their experiences with Paul and their sisters.

Hearing his words, Madam Gu looked at him in shock.

-And you accepted them anyway?

She asked, uncertain if her words would not offend him.

-Of course I did.

Paul answered calmly, not offended at all, and not even surprised at this question.

In this world, there were not many men who would accept a woman who was not a virgin as anything more than a concubine, and even that was not happening often.

Most women who lost their virginity before marriage ended their lives, either out of shame or to preserve their family's honor.

At least that was the case in the mortal realm.

-It was never their fault that this happened to them, and it also didn't change the fact that they are both wonderful women who are making me a happy man by being with me.

Paul added, surprising the woman before him even more.

-I know it's not their fault, but what can I do?

Madam Gu asked, in a breaking voice.

-I'm their mother, I want them to live and be happy, but right now they want to die, and I have no clue how to make them want to live again.

I also don't want them to live only to suffer for the rest of their lives.

It's an impossible choice to make.

The woman said, devastated by the dilemma placed before her.

-At least, you know who the culprits are, so you might try to get revenge, or use it as an incentive for your daughters to live for it.

That would give them a purpose and time to discover something else to live for.

-I already tried, but they don't want revenge, as it is almost impossible to achieve it.

The one who sold them out is their own father, and the reason for this is that he was promised to be accepted into a sect at the third realm.

Additionally, my daughters told me that they heard him talking with the head maid, who turned out to be his lover all these years.

According to what they heard, as soon as I left to look for you, they were planning to leave and take everything with them, fearing that you might be able to heal my daughters.

-Alright, so that was your husband doing, but who were the ones that actually assaulted your daughters and inflicted so much damage on their bodies?

Paul asked.

-They were disciples from the divine needle sect, or at least that's how they introduced themselves.

They also told my daughters that they will be back soon to have more fun with them, and they are terrified to end up in their hands again, which is one of the reasons they want to die.

Hearing this name, Paul's whole demeanor changed, and a chilling aura surrounded him.

-When were your daughters attacked?

He asked, his voice cold as a blizzard, and his eyes empty of any emotion other than cold fury.

-Two months ago.

The woman said, momentarily filled with fear, at the change in Paul.

-Guard them, well, and whatever you do, don't let them die. I'll be back soon.

Paul said and cast a shadow jump, disappearing into his own shadow in a second.
