Christian didn't voice the thought, but Iris seemed to grasp it anyway.
"No," she said calmly. "I'm not satisfied."
She paused only briefly before continuing. "That said, I am genuinely grateful that you devoted so much of your time and effort to creating me."
"But…"
She stopped there and raised her hand, holding it up before her eyes. The hand looked soft, delicate, almost fragile — indistinguishable from that of an ordinary human. Yet beneath that appearance lay immense strength and countless concealed weapons.
Power that might very well surpass even him… her master.
Those truths reflected clearly in her gaze as she studied her palm in silence. And after a moment, she lowered her hand and looked back at him.
"Do you remember when I first listed the requirements for my body?"
