I sat on the bed holding the blue book, smiling to myself that I could now make progress toward my evolution.
"Are you able to understand me when I talk?" I asked.
Ink blotches appeared on the pages, and writing formed.
"Good. Are you aware of the seal and how long it has been?"
"Okay. Are you able to read my memories?"
I paused and thought for a moment before saying, "Not yet. First, tell me everything you can do now and what has changed since the seal was broken. You are now a few levels higher, so I expect some changes."
I was wide-eyed as I read everything and couldn't help but smile."This has gotten so much better."
I took some time to read it over again, and once I did, I asked, "Can information be shown in any book, or is it the same as before?"
"I see. Please do, then read my memories once you're done. I will give you some more afterward," I said.
The book proceeded as I asked while I leaned back and thought for a moment.
"I would like to add more information to what is collected by appraisals," I said after a minute.
"Add the magic affinity on people and remove the magic level combat skills, and add a number after that instead for its strength and proficiency."
"Add conditions like poisoned, tired, injured, and so on," I said.
I paused at the third but couldn't think of anything.
"That's all for now. I will add something when needed," I said.
I smiled and waited for it to finish while wondering how much had changed.
After a few minutes, I picked up the black book, watched as it levitated to me, and began to read my profile.

I shook my head. "No, this is fine. Begin the appraisal of my memories... Actually, run an appraisal on this room as well. This is a demiplane, and I have a few memories on the topic. Can you read them?"
I raised an eyebrow. "So you can selectively read any memories I need without guidance?... Ah, right, the subconscious automatically brings up memories applied to situations, and you read those, right?"
<...Correct. That is totally what I was going to say.>
I paused, confused.'Is it being sarcastic or... did it just lie... in writing?'
I decided not to ask and continued the discussion.
"Okay, so I have analyzed this room partially. Please run an appraisal on the room and factor in my memories of my own knowledge and analysis," I said as I started reading my stat page again.

I blinked.

I grabbed the book, stared at the line again, and then let out a giddy, almost feral laugh.
"SPACE! I HAVE A SPACE AFFINITY!"
The books started slowly, hovering away from me on instinct.
"Oh, this… oh this is going to be very fun," I said as I laughed excitedly,
Space is one of the rarest affinities in the world and also one of the most powerful. With a high enough proficiency, you can create demiplanes, teleport, create your own storage spaces, and, for those with a concept of science, molecular principles and molecular catabolism like me, can even create beams of compressed energy that can cut a mountain in half.
I snickered as I imagined what I could do with it, but eventually had to push it aside for now.
Low-level space magic required the same amount of mana as a tier 5 lightning spell, and lightning magic already costs more mana than other elements and considering I can only cast one or two tier 3 spells before running out of mana, well... I wasn't using it anytime soon.
