Kaerith
"Do you have a brother ?" Her question rings in my head hours later , do I? I have the ghost of my brother, but him I do not have . My brother , my ally was someone i could count on , he was my best friend, until he stole him from me , and then replaced him , this monster who wants to be seen .
Who am I to judge ? I've seen my fair share of people wanting to be seen .. a time came that I became a part of them .
Past...
"Kaerith the skies are weeping again " Vaerith lays on the rooftop opposite me , watching the skies
" When don't they ?"
"They didn't yesterday, it almost seemed clear"
" and then look at how it weeps today, it's non stop today"
"Indeed,Mum is searching frantically for us Kaerith "
"Let her search , I have no plans of getting down" I see the hesitation in his features *sighs* " if you wish to go vaerith be my guest"
" I just don't want her to worry."
" Then GO"
"Always so short tempered , imagine how you will be when you have a mate " I scoff in disbelieve
" I have no intention of finding or having a mate Vaerith "
"But .. if you eventually find , will I be the first to know ? "
" but nothing! I don't have a mate bother "
" imagine ! If you find her , wil I be the first to know ?"
" you will feel it , so yes you will be the first to know , unless you severe our bond before then "
" I would never do that , and you will tell me before you bind right ?"
" Why is It so important to you ?"
" because you are my second half" he shrugs
"Okay , let's go inside now " .
Eleven years later .....

"Common D , the park is nice I promise " I hear him call for her , I wait a little , my interest piqued , usually everyone wanted to come to the park , it was rare for one to be unmotivated to do so, but when I saw her i understood .
I watched as she observed , eyes searching the park frantically like she's searching for something , someone,or maybe just assessing - then hollow eyes lock on mine, almost like she can see me as she cocks her head to the side, eyes unblinking Can she see me ? A mortal ? Doesn't act like one too.
A faint smile graces her features as she stares straight at me , stares into a soul i didn't know I had ..
" She smiled " I hear the boys that accompanied her say " Finally she smiled " so she hasn't smiled before ? And if so .. why smile at me ? Better question how did she see me ?

"Kearith , where have you been ? The court meeting was over ages ago" The wind carries her voice dancing, till it reaches me as i faze back into the realm, my mother - always so inquisitive.
"I went out mother , The realm gets awfully boring at times wouldn't you say?" I reply stepping into the court room.
She's sitted at the head of the table , features tense with worry yet her body does not give an out .
" No kaerith I wouldn't say so , there's plenty of places to be within the realm , you didn't even tell your brother where you were going"
" He doesn't have to know everything about me mother"
" well there was a time when things were different"
"Indeed mother , it's almost like a distant memory now" vaerith's voice interrupts from behind me
"I'm sure your brother will tell you where he has been going these past weeks"
" I most certainly won't mother " he gasps dramatically , a hand on his chests
"But I tell you everything " I scoff in return as I walk past him, stopping at the entrance
"Everything?" I ask only to his hearing as I exit the courtroom.
I hear his footsteps behind me as he follows me
"What did you mean by that kaerith ? I do tell you everything "
" You don't say ...."
" I do say" I stop walking , facing him
" What happened the night of the clear sky when you went to the Vharûn ?" His eyes widen a fraction before he masks his surprise
" You knew "
" You are not as stealt as you would like to believe Vaerith , to finish it up - you are an open book , so what happened in the realm ?"
" I can't tell you "
" That explains that" I continue heading my way
" not because I don't want to kaerith, but because I can't "
" and why can't you brother ?" .
" because I can't remember okay ? , I have tried but I can't remember, I'm not the one !"
" The one ?" He releases a breath
" The night before , I heard mother say it , she said that on the night of the clear sky whichever demon that enters Vharûn on the night of it and comes out with their memory in tact is him or her in whatever context you may put it in "
" is the Devil?" I ask in awe
" Yes "
" and you thought the best thing to do was to go on this self discovery journey alone , and not only did you apparently fail ,you also have no memory of what happened after whatsoever?" I grin " sucks to be you on the night of the clear sky "
" You think you can come back in one piece ?!" He challenges
" I don't really have any particular interest in finding out my hidden ability and title but I do for a fact know that I would come out in one piece"
" I know that you won't, we are connected Kaerith , I failed and so will you "
" You seem to forget brother , two tethered halves only means one lives on false pieces of the other , and from your false show of bravado , we know who the one with the false piece is" he lunges for me , I tackle him to the floor pinning him down " stop this madness"
" you think you are better than me !"
" am I?" He jabs my ribs causing me to wheeze for air
" No ! I am the better half ! Me ! Me ! Me ! " He yells continuously , I see the rage in his eyes, I've never seen it in his eyes before- i have seen traces , I've seen through his mask weeks ago , when he masks his anger and irritation towrards me with snarky remarks and comments , with false smiles and jokes , even the blind could see that this wasn't my broter , so I stop fighting, willing to see how far he will go to prove his point .. and he pummels and pummels my face into the ground , the force making a crack. I watch with bloodied eyes the look of satisfaction as my mother rushes to drag him off me, I don't hear what she says as she drags him in , she doesn't come back to check on me ,she just goes with him , the rage evident on her face but still .
I dust myself off the ground , healing my face back to normal " That Vaerith- is why you can never be the better half"
" so you let him release his monster on you " I turn to find Mhorvael leaning against the wall
" You were there the whole time ?"
" you felt my presence immediately I apparated here kaerith , why did you let him do that ?"
" I did it for me , I knew he changed that day, I just wanted to know how much, so whatever I do - I won't be coerced into feeling bad "
" So how much did he change ? "
" quite enough "
" If he hadn't gone , it wouldn't have happened "
" He is greed , but even his greed couldn't get him what he sought"
