" Sorry " I whisper turning to face him , he doesn't acknowledge my apology , just lays there face up staring into space , my curiousity gnawing at my lips , threatening the loads of questions to spill " can I ask a question?"
" A question ?" He lifts a brow mockingly , knowing I won't stop at one
" Well .. questions "
" I'm listening " a victorious smile blooms on my lips
" Did you change my name ? "
" Why'd you ask ?"
" Because you never call me Zyrana, you actually have never called me that , and all of a sudden today that's all you call me , so - did you change my name ?" He sighs like he's having an inner battle with himself
" I gave you a befitting name, one only I can call "
" Why only you ?" He cocks his neck to the side , glancing me over
" You want the honest answer ?or you want me to tell you something else ?"
" Honest!"
" Because it's a name that suits you , suits your soul , Diana is much too simple for a complex creature as yourself , and because -" Complex huh ? Well I've been called worse but when he says it , it sounds more like a praise
" Because ?" He leans into me a bit , close but not too close
" You Zyrana - are mine " my stupid heart skips a bit , I should be upset that he claims me like a possession, but I'm not .
" What makes you so sure ? There might be another demon lurking about , waiting to swoop in " I taunt , his jaw clenches , before he releases it ...
" They can most certainly try !" Is it a promise ? Or a threat ? I don't know .
" Do you have siblings ?"
" No" he replies all to quickly for me to know he is lying , but why would he lie about having siblings though right ?
" That sounds boring , I would know .. I was an only child after all"
" Was ? You have cousins not brothers "
" They are my brothers , that's how family works , I'm not an only child anymore " processing the information, he gives a slight nod " where are you in the - umm - food chain ?" He chuckles sending butterflies round my stomach from the sound
" Food chain?" He asks me again , entertained my cluelessness
" Yh"
" Well darling , I'm at the top of that - food chain as you call it , but it's actually called a hierarchy of demons and devils "
" So you can't be at the top then "
" I can't ? " He smirks " do tell me me why ?"
"Well - the devil is at the top " the weight of my teeth presses into my lower lips , it's getting real easy for me to mention demons and devils these days
" And who is this devil darling ? Who do you think it is ? " He ask a smile playing on his lips , my mouth opens but nothing comes out as I stare into his eyes , yes his damn eyes again ! Like I'm drowning but in a calm way , unable to look away, his hands finds it's way to my cheeks again , stroking tentatively" I am - the devil " his lips brushes against mine before he pulls back leaving me longing and wanting .

" He said ? He didn't say anything about the hierarchy, you assumed that he was the devil ! , I guess it's time for some history lesson then " he sits up leaning back , I wait in anticipation.
" Unlike what the humans have had you believe , the devil isn't one being or creature who was crowned king of demons ! " Damn I hate being confused " just listen , you will understand, The devil is not a being Zyrana, it's a title "
" You are bluffing , messing with my head aren't you ? "
" Now why would I do that ?"
" I don't know ! Some twisted demon game ?" He gives me a pointed look making me bite my lips in frustration, he's not lying - got it . " So it's a title ! And it's your title?"

" Good night Zyrana " I hum as a calming aura washes over me , making my eye lids heavy , with a sigh I snuggle into him legging the darkness take over , but not before I feel his hands in my hair .
