"Chief..." The officer seemed hesitant to speak.
Just as Ailock was about to sit on the sofa, he saw this and frowned slightly, "Is there something else?"
The officer looked around, then glanced at Ailock again.
Ailock frowned even more, as his secretary stood at a distance, and several guards were stationed there.
The officer's intention was clear; he wanted to speak with Ailock alone.
Not knowing what he intended, Ailock said, "Come to my study."
The officer nodded and followed him inside.
"What's the matter, you can speak now," Ailock sat on the sofa, looking at the officer with confusion.
"Chief, I just lied," the officer stood there straight and said, "The assassin is not dead, he wants to meet you alone."
Ailock's frown deepened upon hearing this.
"Did he ask you to do this?" Ailock asked the officer, bewildered.
The officer nodded without hiding anything.
