Katherine's lips still tingled, the trace of Felix's kiss lingering on her mouth like a brand. Her pulse thundered in her ears, betraying her every effort to stay composed. She hadn't meant for it to happen, hadn't meant to lean into him, hadn't meant to respond so desperately when his mouth claimed hers, but once it began, she was helpless against the tidal pull of his closeness.
Felix didn't seem any more composed than she was. His lips trailed lower now, feather-light against the edge of her jaw, before dipping lower still until they brushed the sensitive hollow beneath her ear.
"F-Felix…" Katherine's whisper caught in her throat, dissolving into a sharp gasp when his teeth grazed the delicate skin of her neck. The sound slipped out unbidden, breathy and vulnerable, and she felt his smirk against her skin.
"You like that," he murmured, his voice low and dark with satisfaction.
