Chapter 291 - Chapter 288: The Three-Party Agreement

The Leaf Village received an urgent letter with the official seal of the Daimyo of the Land of Fire. It requested an immediate and secret meeting in the Fire Capital. The invitation was a deliberate and calculated list of names: Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Hokage; individuals directly responsible for the discovery of the rare chakra metal, Dan Hamura; and his grandson, Ryu Hamura.

The secrecy and exclusion of other important elders of the village in the summons did not go unnoticed. The Daimyo, knowledgeable in matters of internal village politics, was well aware of the deep-seated tension between the Hamura and Shimura clans. To prevent any friction, the Daimyo had shrewdly chosen to keep the Leaf Village's other elders entirely out of the loop.

Danzo, when he found out about the secret meeting, thought, "Such an important matter, and I and the other elders are left out. That bastard Huamra is responsible for this."

However, at that moment, he was unable to take any action.

Weeks later, the atmosphere in Lord Daimyo's castle hall was filled with important people of the two nations. At the heart of the chamber, Lord Madoka, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire, sat on his throne. At his side, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the old Hokage , watched the proceedings with a keen eye.

On the other side of him, Azuma Kasen, the Daimyo of the Land of Rivers, sat with his people. Sitting apart from the Daimyos and noblemen was a small, distinct group from Hamura Industry who held their ground.

Dan Hamura, sitting along with his grandson, Ryu Hamura and Secretary Kaori, sat in the corner, other than the two national-level powers.

Ryu leaned in towards Dan, his voice urgent. "Grandpa, you should take the lead on this."

Ryu, for his part, chose to let the more experienced adults handle this official proclamation.

Azuma Kasen spoke first, addressing Lord Madoka with a respectful but straightforward tone.

"Lord Madoka, and leaders of the Land of Fire," he began, his voice clear and formal. "I am here today to suggest a new alliance between the Land of Fire and the Land of Rivers, with the objective of utilising the recently discovered rare resources in the Land of Rivers by the Hamura Industry."

"A new alliance is a matter of great importance," Lord Madoka replied, his voice resonating with authority. "As much as I want to help you out, Father-in-law, without any binding agreement or conditions involved. But I have a duty to my citizens to seek benefit for them."

Azuma Kasen nodded and continued, his voice now a plea laced with political pragmatism. "Our nation is not as powerful as Fire Country, and my people cannot defend this resource alone. The Land of Rivers offers a formal alliance, one that sees the Leaf Village provide its shinobi for the permanent security of the chakra metal mine. In return, the Land of Fire will have exclusive purchasing rights, and we will compensate the Leaf Village's shinobi handsomely for their work. This will be a mutually beneficial agreement that will ensure the prosperity of my nation and the security of a vital resource for yours."

Madoka and Hiruzen exchanged a silent glance, their prior agreement solidifying. Madoka nodded, a subtle gesture that signalled the official approval. He knew that the greatest risk was not accepting the deal but losing it to a rival who would surely use it against the Land of Fire. The negotiation was a success, and the formal agreement was signed by three parties: the two Daimyos and Dan Hamura. The status of the Hamura clan was elevated to new heights.

In the month following the official alliance between the Land of Fire and the Land of Rivers, the two nations have begun to see the fruits of their partnership. The small deposit of chakra metal has sent silent shockwaves across the nations. But the Leaf Village had swiftly secured the mine, and in the past month, Hamura Industries, using new prototype electrical and mechanical instruments for digging and excavating, all designed by Ryu, started the mining of the chakra metal.

As per the agreement, all the extracted chakra metal was sold to the Fire Nation. The Fire Nation, in turn, sold a portion to the Leaf Village for their labour in securing the mine and a portion to Hamura Industries for research.

Mikaika's health has improved remarkably after, as the first test subject, the electronic pacemaker prototype, flawlessly implanted by Nono Yakushi, has proven to be a resounding success, and his episodes of arrhythmia have ceased completely. With his health stabilised, Mikaika has begun his training alongside Kaia and Akihiro.

The team's training focuses on foundational chakra control and honing their senses, with Mikaika acting as the anchor for Kaia and Akihiro's development.

Hamura Industries has grown at an unprecedented rate after the launch of the mobile phone. Kaori has overseen the hiring of dozens of new employees to meet the overwhelming demand for telephones and other Hamura-branded products. Ryu in this period also developed a music device like iPod too that he plan to release soon after collecting enough rights to music. He started purchasing music rights from local and foreign artists and promising them yearly royalties for their music. He also had a few songs of his own with the help of Kaia and Akihiro. He had a music studio at his home.

The initial pacemaker prototype is now pending a final review by the medical council of the Land of Fire before its public release. The incredible success of the prototype and the flawless surgery has increased the prestige of both the Hamura Clan and the Leaf Village's medical capabilities.

The news of it reached Tsunade and she was happy to see that Ryu finally develop a kind of artificial organ, like he promised.

The company's philanthropic initiative has also begun, with several new clinics and orphanages being established in the Land of Fire, building goodwill and public opinion.

A month into the company's expansion, Ryu introduced something new again, but this time it was not a technology. Insurance is a foreign concept to most in the ninja world, setting the stage for the groundbreaking introduction of 'Hamura Care'. Hamura Industries, under Ryu's direction, is about to change that with the launch of "Hamura Care", a revolutionary health and life insurance programme.

Ryu used Kohinata for publicity, as his circle of knowns was big, as he was a pretty famous Elite Jonin in ninja circles.

The interview was broadcast on the large, tiled screen on the face of the Hamura building, the same screen Ryu used for the telecommunications network launch. The entire village was captivated by the sight.

The scene shifted to a public broadcast. A polished, charismatic representative from Hamura Industry's public relations department sat across from Kohinata Mukai.

"Thank you for joining us, Mr Mukai," the representative said with a winning smile. "The whole village has been talking about your son's remarkable recovery. Can you tell us about it?"

"I will never forget that day," Kohinata said, his voice filled with emotion. "My son's heart condition had doctors stumped for years. Then, Lord Ryu stepped in and created a device, which Lady Nono Yakushi then flawlessly implanted. It has completely changed our lives. It was nothing short of a miracle."

"And that miracle is the foundation of our new initiative, Hamura Care," the representative said, gesturing to a sleek graphic that appeared on the screen behind them. "It's a programme designed to give everyone in the Land of Fire the same peace of mind. Mr Mukai, you were our first-ever client, were you not?"

"That's right," Kohinata replied. "Because I saved Lord Ryu's life once, he gifted my family a free year's subscription to Hamura Care. Now that I am an employee of Hamura Industry, my insurance is a benefit from the company. It's more than just a gift; it's a lifeline."

The PR rep utilised a simple animated video to explain the concept to the public, simplifying the understanding of 'Hamura Care'. "Think of it this way. If 100 people buy health or life insurance, how many do you think will get seriously ill or die? One, or maybe two. But the subscription costs of all 100 people cover the risks for everyone and the injuries or illnesses for the few unlucky ones. If I were you, I would buy it and live with peace of mind, knowing that any risk will be covered by Hamura Care."

"And the peace of mind is priceless," Kohinata added, his gaze earnest. "Knowing my son's health is protected, knowing that a single bad mission or unexpected illness won't bankrupt my family... it changes everything. It's a promise that no matter what, we're cared for. This program is for the betterment of the people."

The broadcast concluded with a scene showing a crowd gathered around a public television screen in the village, captivated by the discussion of 'Hamura Care'.

A civilian mother leaned in and whispered to her husband, "Imagine that. Never having to worry about a medical bill again."

A ninja with a scarred face nodded. "That's incredible. It's a risk cover that we always need in our line of work. I would definitely buy it if I could afford it."

In her clinic, Nono Yakushi heard about the broadcast and smiled to herself, reflecting on the impact of 'Hamura Care'.

"That's a brilliant idea," she murmured to herself, acknowledging the impact and significance of 'Hamura Care'. "It's something this world has always needed but never thought to create. A system that offers true peace of mind. I should buy this insurance for myself."
