Chapter 505: Ye Tian's Technique
Judging from the current situation, there wasn't a single one of Chen Tiequan's men who could stand against Ye Tian. All of them had already been sent flying, and now lay sprawled on the ground, unable to get up.
Seeing all his subordinates knocked out cold, Chen Tiequan was completely dumbfounded. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing. How could this be real? He had brought so many men—how could they have all been defeated in an instant?
"Impossible! This kid's hiding something!"
Glaring at Ye Tian, Chen Tiequan shouted, "What kind of dark sorcery did you use?!"
"Dark sorcery?"
Ye Tian let out a cold snort and replied, "If you want to call it that, then suit yourself. But let me be clear—your son ended up like that purely because of karma. I already let him off easy by not killing him. And now you're here trying to stir up trouble with me? Do you really think you're worthy?"
"You—!"
At this moment, Chen Tiequan turned to the figure beside him and ordered, "It's up to you now. No matter what, defeat him!"
"Yes, sir."
The man known as Shadow looked at Ye Tian, his gaze serious. Even he had to admit—Ye Tian's strength was terrifying. As an assassin, Shadow had encountered many powerful individuals, but none had a fighting style quite like Ye Tian's.
Moments ago, with a single wave of Ye Tian's hand, all of Chen Tiequan's men had been taken down. It was as if some invisible force had overwhelmed them—an unseen power that couldn't be perceived.
Could this be the work of one of those legendary cultivators?
In that brief instant, Shadow considered the possibility. Yes, perhaps only a cultivator could perform such a feat. But those were just legends—stories of mysterious experts cultivating deep in the mountains. How could someone like that possibly appear here?
"No… the odds are too low."
In the end, Shadow dismissed the thought. It was far too naive to believe such a thing. How could something from legend actually exist in this world?
According to the tales, only a rare few—those with extraordinary luck and perseverance—could become cultivators after years of seclusion and hardship. Even then, the likelihood was nearly zero.
There was a fundamental difference between cultivators and ordinary martial artists. While both sought power, their paths were entirely different. Martial artists strengthened their physical bodies through relentless training and technique. Cultivators, on the other hand, pursued strength by other means—mystical means far beyond the scope of ordinary fighters.
Take Shadow, for example. From a young age, he endured inhuman training. He rose before dawn every day at five o'clock and trained continuously until noon. After a brief lunch, he resumed until evening. Even after dinner and a short rest, the training would continue late into the night.
For him, martial training had been a living hell.
But it was this brutal regime that forged him into the elite assassin he was today. His physical prowess placed him among the top fighters on the entire Tianwu Continent. Though he knew there were stronger people out there, he found it hard to believe someone as young as Ye Tian could truly be a match for him.
And yet… Ye Tian had displayed a strength that left even him shaken.
What kind of technique could possibly allow someone to knock out so many people in an instant?
Surely no martial arts could do that.
From Ye Tian's method of attack, Shadow concluded that Ye Tian wasn't a cultivator—then the only other possibility was that he was a poison master!
According to rumor, there existed such experts—poison masters—who specialized in using toxins. These individuals could conceal poison powder in their sleeves, and during combat, they would suddenly unleash it on their opponents. The most terrifying types were colorless and odorless, making them impossible to detect.
"That's it—he must be a poison master!"
Having reached this conclusion, Shadow was now convinced that Ye Tian's ability to bring down all those men at once could only be explained by poison.
"A poison master, huh?"
With that thought in mind, he immediately tore off one of his sleeves, used it to cover his nose, and shouted, "I know what you are! You're a poison master! You're trying to poison me now? Don't even think about it!"
"What? A poison master?"
Hearing this, Ye Tian was speechless. Where on earth did this guy get that idea?
Did he seriously think Ye Tian had secretly poisoned all those men?
If so, then he had completely misunderstood.
"Hmph. Don't pretend," Shadow said. "You're definitely a poison master. How else could you have taken down so many people at once if you didn't use poison?"
Ye Tian simply shrugged and said with a laugh, "Ha! What a frog at the bottom of a well. You think I'd stoop to using poison on such weaklings? If I can deal with them with a flick of my hand, why would I bother using poison?"
"Nonsense! You clearly used poison!"
Shadow still clung to his theory. He couldn't imagine how else Ye Tian could have pulled off what he just saw. Without poison, how could so many of Chen Tiequan's men be taken out so fast?
"Oh? You think I used poison?" Ye Tian smiled. "Then go ahead and examine their bodies. See if you can find any signs of poisoning. I guarantee you won't find anything."
Now curious himself, Shadow walked over to one of the fallen men and asked, "Where do you feel unwell? Are you paralyzed or experiencing any poisoning symptoms?"
But the man replied, "No… it didn't feel like poisoning. It was more like… we got hit by some kind of force. It didn't feel like any toxin at all."
