Mordo was facing a deadly crisis.
On Tony's side, things weren't going well either.
The ones attacking the New York Sanctum were all kinds of hellish creatures.
Cerberus, two-headed dragons, hydras, Leviathans...
All of them had high magic resistance, tough hides, and ridiculously long health bars.
After the wizard squad entered the battlefield, they launched a volley of Avada Kedavra curses.
As a result, the hell creatures hit by the curse had their bodies charred black, but merely shook their heads, then, covered in wounds, burst out with an even more ferocious side.
The Killing Curse, fueled by murderous intent, not only failed to work, but instead triggered their slaughter instincts.
The wizards had no choice but to quickly switch tactics.
Some of them raised the Shield of Seraphim at the front line.
The others unleashed a barrage of spells from behind the barrier.
Bolt of Borsat, Sectumsempra, Fiendfyre... all sorts of spells flew wildly within the expanded mirror dimension.
The wizards were casting the strongest magic they had.
But the magic resistance of these hellish creatures was still far too high compared to the wizards' attacks.
The wizardry from Hogwarts was almost completely ineffective.
Only white magic cast using the power borrowed from the Will of the Emperor could deal effective damage to these grotesque creatures.
Especially the Bolt of Borsat.
The golden lightning sphere, after several rebounds—As long as it hit, it could reliably kill a hell creature.
Unfortunately, this spell was extremely difficult and came at a steep cost to cast, and only a handful of the wizards present had mastered it.
After several rounds of magical bombardment, the wizards at the front line were the first to buckle.
The number of hellish creatures seemed endless; every few seconds, one would crawl out of the rift.
They charged recklessly at the shields, and before long, an entire row of Seraphim Shields was covered in cracks.
"It's our turn!" Tony, seeing this, removed the transfiguration charm from his armor, once again transforming into his several-meter-tall giant battle suit.
He piloted the suit into the air and dove into the mass of monsters, the upgraded laser beams sweeping across and decapitating swaths of them.
Natasha raised the long spear-shaped magical artifact in her hand, leapt high, and flipped over the shield barrier. "Ladies, bring out your best!"
One by one, the black-clad girls charged out from the front line.
Their physical strength was no weaker than that of the towering dimensional creatures.
Yelena threw an uppercut from below and took down one of the three heads of a Cerberus. Then, while dodging the attacks from the other two heads, she swiftly sliced off another.
The unstoppable charge of the hellish creatures was momentarily halted by just about a hundred black-clad girls.
The wizards in the rear finally had a brief moment to catch their breath.
But they quickly returned to the battlefield again.
Some summoned the Crimson Chains of Cyttorak to help restrain the monsters.
Others personally took up the Holy Sword of the Emperor and the Ring of Raggadorr to charge into the fray.
The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj were truly different from other wizards.
Each of them possessed the heart of a warrior—unafraid of blood, unafraid of sacrifice.
"Shit! Who's the lord of this hell? Why are all the monsters he sends out multi-headed freaks? What, is he such a chatterbox he needs more mouths to brag with?"
Tony, holding one of the twin-headed dragons by the neck, kept shoving laser blasts into its mouths while complaining.
Banner's voice came through the audio: "Who knows, maybe you should go to hell and keep him company. With you there, he wouldn't need so many mouths on his subordinates."
"Banner, are you calling me a chatterbox too? Don't joke around—I'm clearly a serious person!"
Tony blasted off one of the heads of a twin-headed red dragon, but the other head bit down on the armor of his right arm.
The fungal armor, massive as it was, was quickly torn into pieces by the dragon's jaws.
With a thought, Tony sent a signal through the chip's network—instantly, the arm shattered into countless fungal threads, which wrapped around the red dragon.
The overwhelming devouring power of the fungus suddenly took on an aggressive form.
Within seconds, the massive red dragon let out a shrill scream as it was engulfed by the fungus.
Moments later, it was reduced to bare bones, its dimensional energy completely absorbed into the fungal mass.
The Mycosuit grew significantly taller in an instant.
"That works too!? Isn't that a bit too brutal…"
Tony tossed aside the skeleton and muttered thoughtfully to himself.
"But when you're fighting hellspawn, there's no need for humanitarian principles, right?"
"What did you say?" Banner asked, having heard Tony's mumbling.
"I'm saying, I think I've found a way to deal with these hell creatures!" Tony's eyes lit up.
He had always treated the fungus's ability to absorb nutrients and strengthen itself as a double-edged sword.
Aside from using it to form his massive battle armor, he usually avoided activating that ability to prevent severe consequences.
But during this battle against the hellspawn, this power he had always treated with caution…
Instead revealed an incredible opportunity to shine!!
"Everyone fall back!" Tony suddenly shouted. "Fall back now, then raise magical shields—quickly!"
The black-clad girls exchanged glances and decisively retreated.
Though this playboy billionaire of theirs was sometimes unreliable, he wasn't the kind to mess up at critical moments.
The wizards were initially hesitant, but once the black-clad fighters withdrew, the pressure on them surged, and they too had no choice but to pull back.
When the massive Seraphim Shield line reformed—
Tony, holding a large hellish creature in one hand, suddenly grinned.
"Everyone, I guarantee what you're about to see will be absolutely epic. You've never seen anything like it!"
The dual arms of Mark 10 extended black fungal tendrils, wrapping around two hell creatures—and in just a few seconds, they were broken down into nutrients.
The fungus Tony developed wasn't supposed to have such powerful devouring capabilities.
But at this moment, the fungus was being powered by the Halo Ring.
The mysterious energy of the Halo directly neutralized the dimensional energy protecting the monsters, allowing the tendrils to bypass layer upon layer of resistance and reach their cellular cores.
After absorbing the energy of those two creatures, Mark 10 swelled several centimeters larger.
Then Tony began executing his real plan: "Jarvis, coordinate with me to drive the Halo at full power—stimulate unlimited fungal growth!"
"Understood, sir!" Jarvis, during combat, was directly stationed in the chip at the back of Tony's neck, assisting him in battle.
The two simultaneously gathered energy, and the massive body of Mark 10 instantly disintegrated.
The black-and-gold giant armor extended countless fungal tendrils, which rapidly spread across the mirrored space floor like an oil spill, covering everything in their path.
And just like oil is flammable, so were the fungal threads.
Only, Tony's fungus didn't burn through oxygen—it consumed the life force of the hell creatures.
The monsters from hell didn't believe the black stuff at their feet could hurt them, completely ignoring the fungal threads.
But when the ground-covering fungus began to climb up their bodies and wrap around them?
Heh! The battle was already over, brought to a decisive end.
Amid the dying, weakening howls that echoed one after another, in just a few seconds, every hell creature that had stepped out of the spatial rift was dead, reduced to dry bones.
Mark 10 absorbed their nutrients and once again grew even larger.
